Th public areas of the hotel is whimsical and zany! But the room is soothing, peaceful, restful and calming. The bed is the most comfortable of all the hotel and B&B's we slept in. Every morning we'd have to peel ourselves out of bed to make breakfast in time. We loved our 3 nights stay here even though it was a bit out of town. Though the walk into town isn't too bad it's the walk back after dinner and pubs. Cabs are plenty though. The breakfast was good, the service excellent and I rather enjoyed dining in the whimsical lounge areas. The only draw back is that they don't have a pub or a bar where you can just sit and chat with a bartender or other visitors. Other than that, we had a great stay.

First of all we were upgraded to a suit which we were delighted with...weird though the back of the hotel faces a retail park so we kep our curtains closed otherwise we woudl be looking out at signs Eddie Rockets, Toy City weird maybe a better experience if you're at the front of the hotel. Can't fault the decor or service, loved everything. The toiletries are sparse and awful cheap not what I'm used to in a 5 star. The room service was limited and what we ordered awful....fish and chips, fish burnt to a crisp and not much fish inside the burned batter. Breakfast in bed was such a let down, cold cappacino, no marmalade with toast, slightly stale croissant and pain au chocolate. We got dressed hurriedly and ran to get a decent breakfast in the city......pity food really let the place down but then again maybe things are a lot better in the restaurant, we didn't have time to try that.

Also my pet hate is when the bottom flat sheet comes undone, it literally drives me insane, the sheet didnt' seem to fit so was loose all night on the bed.....drove me nuts!!

My boyfriend and I stay in the G 2weeks ago as a little treat as we've always wanted to stay! The room was fab and the bed was HUGH! the most comfy bed i have ever slept in! The two welcoming cupcakes was a lovely touch also. The room and accesories were all to a very high standard.
We treated ourselfs to massages and used the spa which was expensive but was so worth it! the pool wasnt really like a swimming pool but a giant jacuzzy! and the relaxation room after was lovely and got a complementy smoothy and chocolate.
The only disappointing thing was the breakfast, while mine was lovley, i order of the menu, but my boyfriend got the full fry which was self service and said parts of it was kinda of cold :-( the scramble eggs and sausages more-so then the rest. I felf bad for him as mine was lovely.

Over all fab place to stay for a treat!

We stayed in The G for a single night en route to Connemara. The hotel decor was, as expected, really over the top but the room was very tastefully decorated and supremely comfortable. A lack of kettle and coffee etc was a little disappointing, and the 'gift' of 2 cup cakes quite bizarre. The restaurant was very good, as was the rather expensive wine.
Breakfast could have been better, especially the absolutely massacred scambled egg! Quality control should be better at this price. We would not stay here again as although welcome was very personal, it was not very personable, if that makes sense. If you like spas, their's is very good, but shockingly expensive.

Had the pleasure of spending sometime in this hotel in august. The decor ws amazing as was the food. The staff were most helpfull and the hotel is just nice walking distance from Galway city centre. All in all a very pleasent break. Looking foward to going back again soon.

This is a very strange hotel. Room was good and the bed and pillows were fabelous. Turn down service put on the tv to a soft music service and this was really welcoming to return to. Our room overlooked the car park and atlantic homecare! Not a 5 star view. There is no bar area, just interconnecting lounges and floor service. I like modern but this hotel is a real disappointment. I would class this as 4 star at the most and the location is definately only 3 star.

This is my thrid time back to the G - I keep trying to find excuses to go back. We arrived
a little early so our room was not ready so we went to the bar and waited. The receptionist came to find us half an hour later and brought us to our room. The room
was spacious, bright and clean. Our bathroom had a stand alone bath and separate
double rain shower. We ate in the restaurant that night. Its good but not the best there
is in Galway. The location is a little outside the city but never bothers me as when I
arrive I never want to leave. Our welcome cup cakes were delivered to our door with a
card welcoming us back to the hotel. The valet parking is not included any more which
is a pity as it was a nice touch. Also the mini bar is not stocked unless you request it. As
usual the staff could not be more helpful.
