Stayed here for a 2 day getaway. Reception was efficient and the receptionist gave a us nice walkaround the downstairs area. The room itself was very nice with the usual enormous pile of pillows on the bed (does anyone ever use *that* many pillows?!)
We had our evening meal in the hotel the first evening. The food itself was ok, but the accompanying wine was very good. Breakfast was included and this was the real disappointment during our stay. Looking forward to a quality Irish breakfast, the food was bland and tasteless. The second morning I went for a pancake and was confronted with a thick pile of stodge - more American in style than European.
So, all round a nice place to stay, but I'd give the breakfast a wide berth. Our bill for the two nights came to 500E in all - with the current exchange rate of £1 = 1E, this was a very expensive two night break, although this obviously isn't the hotel's fault.More
