Lots of souvenirs and small shops. Great coffee and café area. It really does cater for all ages, and all shoppers.

My husband & I were in Galway with our tour group travelling with Gate 1 Travel and spent 2 days in Galway.
Quay Street was definitely on MY bucket list if ever in Galway!

This is one long street with its abundance of restaurants, bars, numerous street performers, singers, band groups, dancers and lots & lots of people watchers!
With the many colorful restaurant & bar fronts, shops and flags draped across Quay Street...made it all very festive!

COLORFUL....is not the true word to describe it but more-or-less....ELECTRIC!!

We walked, and walked, and walked from one end to the other looking for a vacant table or just 2 seats to be able to sit outside and enjoy some fish & chips along with a cold beer to do some people watching...but none was available!
Finally, we came upon a table outside of McDonagh's where an older couple were getting ready to leave and I asked them if we could get their table....now, bring on the fish & chips! Fish & chips, yes....but, no beer served here!
Oh, well got a coke instead!

We continued to stroll up and down the street, listened to lots of great music, and shopped for the kids + grandkids back home.

What a COLORFUL and ELECTRIC day it was....one for the memory book!

Great area to visit with plenty of shops and restaurants. Very lively at night. Live music and great pours of Guinness.

Cosy little area with everything in one cross roads, lots of bars and eateries, noisy at nighttime but buzzy in afternoons

Totally over commercialised. full of tourists who pack all the restaurants and throng the streets. restaurants are packed despite the fact that all the many we tried were awful. the only thing worth doing is visiting the brilliant little city museum which interprets the area and its people over the last few hundred years
