“trying to be something its not”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Quay used to be a run down part of the city. While it is admirable that the area has been rejuvenated giving it a grandiose title such as 'The Latin Quarter' is going too far.Its a pretention that does sit well in a small city famous for its lack of pretention.

“SO FUN!”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

We spent a few hours nearly every day we were in Galway on Quay Street. There is so much to see and do- pubs, restaurants and shopping!! The locals in were so friendly and the area felt very safe.

Love the old toy shop, MacDonaghs fish and chip shop is a must. A pint in freeneys in the afternoon and soaking up the atmosphere in general.
