We stayed at this hotel during race week and we paid dearly for the priviledge. We probably paid double what you would normally expect and we still thought it was a very nice hotel with excellent service. Our rooms weren't so they offered us tea in the bar. We liked that it was a little off of Eyre square, close to the train station and not on the main drag to the river. There are three pubs right across the street, the best being McGarvey's (it's a long story, one that ends in a three day hang over).

Prices were high during race week, but it was an experience.

The location is just fantastic- it is so close to the center of town. The lounge was a great place to chill out and the bar was open late. The staff was all very nice and helpful. We asked where we should go for nightlife and they gave great suggestions. We went to Taeffe's for Ireland music and had a great time hanging out with the locals.

The room was on the small side although it wasn't a big deal for us because we weren't in the room for that long. The hair dryer was just horrible and took forever to dry my hair.

As part of the package that we got through Hotels.com, breakfast was included. The breakfast was fantastic! Since it was included, we got a great deal because it would have been an expensive breakfast otherwise.

The only problem with this part of town was that we had trouble finding a place to eat after 9 pm.

Strongly recommend this hotel. Rooms are slightly small but everything else is perfect - even free parking is included. very centrally located. Galway is a special city - it is younger than Dublin and Killarney. Went for a day to bike in the Aran Islands - very memorable. The bus drive to the ferry took us through the beautiful Connemara Coast. Saw the Cliffs of Mohr earlier on our drive to Galway from Killarney.

I was very pleased with our stay at the Park House Hotel. I chose this hotel based on all the fantastic Trip Advisor reviews. After traveling from the States all night and then taking a three hour bus trip from Dublin Airport, I was very happy to find the back of the hotel was right across from the Coach Station. In fact, there happened to be a hotel porter in the parking lot in the back and he immediately took our bags from us. After having lunch and relaxing a bit in the hotel restaurant, our rooms were ready.

The main pedestrian strip was only about a 5-10 minute walk away, the park was even closer, and a mall with a grocery store even closer. There was a convenience store (that always seemed to be open no matter the time) across the street, as well as a great pub that played Irish music and had Irish dancers. Even on a Wednesday night, it was rocking. I thought the location was excellent.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and roomy enough for three of us. The breakfast that was included with our rate was very good. The staff was friendly and courteous. I had booked my excursions at home on-line, but the front desk was always helpful with any information or directions we needed. I loved Galway and would like to return again - if I do, I will definitely book this hotel again.

The hotel 'upgraded' us when we arrived. This gave us a room facing an alley. I guess I'd hate to know what out original room was like. But seriously, in Europe I would say it is a good thing to face an alley because of all the motorcycles and buses that create so much noice on the streets.

Our room had an older feel. This would probably have been a prime room in 1993. Just was not modern except for the bathroom. Bathroom was pretty cool. Had a towel-warmer rack. Never seen that before.

The location is the best thing about the hotel, hands down. The main areas and the staff made me expect a top-notch room. Was let down that it wasn't great. Overall a good hotel though.
