I travelled here with a friend and we loved it - great value for the location. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Galway. It was a simple one block walk from the bus stop that we used to get there from Dublin... The staff was awesome and very helpful when we were looking for tips getting around and places to make sure to visit. It is located one or two blocks off the really popular part of town - definitely worked the 2 more minutes of walking (this also allowed for a quiet room). With the staffs recommendations, we walked all over, to tons of bars, restaurants and cool churches/parks. The rooms had an older style but it fit the hotel perfectly which had all the necessities and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast also came with our room and it was a delicious full breakfast with anything you could desire.

We had a great stay in Park House Hotel. We were down from Dublin for the night to go to a concert so we didn't stay in the hotel for a huge amount of time but when we got back there, they were happy to give us a drink at the resident's bar and were very helpful with a quick check in.

The breakfast was so delicious. Buffet style croissants/scones/danishes and then a cooked breakfast. We rolled back to Dublin...

Really enjoyed our stay in Park House, so conveniently located and comfortable. Only negative is the car park, we had to use car park next door, otherwise everything was perfect. Will definitely return!

My daughter and I spent a short break in this marvellous hotel. What a treat. We enjoyed every minute of it.The welcome is truly Irish. Everyone of the staff were very friendly ,pleasant and effecient. The food was sumptious with the correct of time left between courses. The fact that the diningroom was full on cold November evenings speaks for itself. The overall impression we were left with was that this hotel has got everything right.Of course its location is also perfect just off Eyre Square and just 2 minutes from the bus and train stations

I booked this hotel based on the incredible reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel is in a pretty good location, a short walk to the square and main shopping/bars. We had some challenges finding the parking but once we did it worked out great, really crowded parking area but the valet/bellman was fantastic.

Other than that we had a really negative experience. The hotel needs to be updated, it was like stepping back in time 25 years. Everything is so outdated and dirty feeling. Our room was one of the worst I have seen in a long time. Small, thin walls, horrible decor. The bed was so uncomfortable and noisy. One pillow per person. The worst part is that it was not cold in Galway and we could not get the air conditioner to work. We tried everything and called the front desk multiple times. They kept coming up but they couldn't fix it either. Finally at 8pm, I called down to speak to the Manager on Duty but they were too busy to talk to me and nobody ever called me back. We gave up and slept with the windows open which turned out to be super fun at 1am when they wheeled the glassware and dishes back and forth the courtyard to either the kitchen or storage. Then we got to hear the speakers announcing Train Departures. I think I slept about 4 hours. The bathrooms is old, horrible lighting. Old TVs..but surprisingly great Wifi. Breakfast was fine, simple. Nothing spectacular. We split a dinner at the bar one night and it was just ok. When we checked out I was going to discuss our problems with the A/C but the poor front desk agent was by himself on a Sunday morning at 10am handling departures and it seems like he was also handling all the calls coming into the hotel because he was trying to do that at the same time. There were about 8 guests in front of me trying to check out as well and it just felt like it would be best to leave.

The long and short of it is that I would tell a friend to look elsewhere. There has got to be other hotels in Galway that are clean, up to date and in a good location.

Room Tip: I wish I knew.
