Staying here is just like being welcomed into a traditional Irish home. Its just five minute walk from the city, The rooms, and breakfast are great. But the host really is the most. Can't wait to come back!

Just got back from Galway and stayed at this B & B. What a great place. It is close to the town and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Lovely B & B with a great breakfast as well. Brenda and Mike were very friendly. I would go back.

Easy & short walk from the bus station, with luggage, even for a couple of seniors! Both Breda and Mike were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent breakfasts with wide choice of fresh fruits, breads, meat, eggs and more. This B&B was fairly newly constructed (approx 20 yrs ago) but was built to appear like an much older building with high quality workmanship. Room was great with flat panel TV and wireless Internet. You won't be disappointed in choosing this one!

My husband and I stayed at Ardawn House in early April. The first plus is that there is off-street parking, so you are guaranteed a place to park in this lovely town. The house is clean and tidy, and our room was very comfortable. Unlike another B&B we stayed in while visiting Ireland, the bed was comfortable, the heat worked well so our room temperature was very comfortable, and the hot water in the bathroom flowed in abundance. Ardawn House is in easy walking distance to the pedestrian area of Galway, which is overflowing with nice restaurants and shops. All of this makes Ardawn House a gem of a find, but what makes it a diamond is hostess Breda. Breda was welcoming and genuinely interested in our having a comfortable stay, from the accommodations she and her husband were providing to our experience in Galway and the surrounding area. Breda took the time to tell us about the town and share with us some of her favorite restaurants, all very helpful information when you are completely unfamiliar with where you are. She then went miles further and told us about some of the incredible sights to see in the area. Being a lover of the outdoors herself, one wonderful suggestion she made, which we took, was to visit the Connemara National Forest and hike the diamond trail. She told us that the physical effort this trail requires offers something for everyone – flat and easy for people who may not be very fit, gradually increasing all the way to a challenging hike when you get very close to the top. I have to confess – when we first set out, the landscape was pretty boring, more like scrub brush – brown and monotonous. This did not last long, and I’m very happy we pressed on, hoping for better. Better is an understatement. Once we started our ascent up the grade, we started to be rewarded with lovely views. The higher we went, the more of Ireland’s beauty unfolded beneath us! The change in views every 100 steps was enticement enough for us to go the next 100 steps and the next 100 and so on, until we reached the top. What a reward!! It was really only the last couple hundred feet that were what I could consider to be very strenuous, but I can tell you that slow and steady wins the race. As we went higher and higher, what unfolded beneath us was spectacular scenery of hills, valleys, farms and communities. You have to see it with your own eyes to understand the loveliness. We had a lot of wonderful experiences when we were in Ireland, and Breda was instrumental in all we should have, and did, experience in the Galway area of Ireland. I highly recommend Ardawn House for the comfortable accommodations as well as the information of all to see in the area. Thanks, Breda!!

Very friendly and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts. On College Road, which has dozens of bed-and breakfasts, so one needs the number (31) to find it. Ardawn is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the Tourist Office and 10 minutes from the city centre. It is also easy to drive out of the city. The only disadvantage was cramped parking space, requiring some skill to negotiate. Make sure they know your time of arrival, or telephone first, because there may be nobody to receive you - we happened to notice some guests ringing the doorbell without response.

Ardawn house is the best accommodation in Galway. I was greeted by Mike who made me feel extremely welcome! I met Brenda the next morning, who was just as lovely. They were both wonderful hosts. Together they whip up a 5 star breakfast. That Irish breakfast will keep you pleasantly full till mid afternoon. Mike was especially helpful in directing me towards the best tour services and places to see in Galway. A beautiful house. The rooms were neat and clean, and were serviced often. I will be back soon, and hopefully for a longer stay! (Also in possession of the fluffiest pillows in all of Ireland!!) Just top notch.
