When we arrived, we were, I admit, a bit disappointed by the curb appeal, but that disappointment quickly dissipated when we were greeted by the lovely, warm and welcoming hosts, Gerry and Sarah.
The rooms are immaculate and, while not fancy, they are comfortable and crisp and clean. Travellers expecting Ritz-style accommodation on a Motel 6 budget all seem to be disappointed by Ross House, but I must stress that the problem here lies with the travellers and NOT with Ross House.

The location is great-- a walk along Galway Bay into town or into Salt Hill is a wonderful way to start or end your day. The food was wonderful-- Sarah clearly takes great pride in presenting delicious food, prepared with love. The presentation is gorgeous and it was sweet to have our own cups and saucers with pretty Irish motifs on them. The house is lovely-- the dining room with a view of the sunroom and garden is a great place to start your day.

The best things about Ross House, however, are Sarah and Gerry. They are kind and welcoming, genuinely personable and we would happily recommend their B&B to anyone who wants a real Irish welcome, delicious food and comfy, crisp beds in a quiet neighbourhood.
Thanks so much, Sarah & Gerry-- we had a lovely time in your pleasant, comfortable, pretty home.

Room Tip: Rooms are all immaculate and comfy. If you have small kids, staying with you, ask Sarah for the room...

Our stay at Ross House was at the end of a two week tour of Ireland which we thoroughly enjoyed! Our stay at Ross House was the perfect end to the holiday. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The French Toast at breakfast was excellent!

There were two issues we had with this B&B. It was too far from downtown Galway. We needed a place within easy walking distance and this did not fit the bill. Second, while the rooms are very nice, the bathrooms were the smallest we encountered on our trip. We had no problem, but the sink hangs over the toilet. Not a big deal for us, but someone on the larger side, elderly or with mobility issues would have found it hard to maneuver in there. Breakfast was great. Everything was clean. Owners were very pleasant.

Although it was one of the more expensive rooms of our 4 weeks trip through Ireland this place is really poor !
The rooms a very small and although we stayed here for 4 nights we had a bathroom in which we hardly could turn.
The room and bathroom were not very clean and some things like the light and the fan in the bathroom and the sunscreen in our room were broken ! The remote control of the TV had to be cleaned because it was so very dirty you would hardly touch it !
In the evenings there was always so much noice you could not think of an early sleep.
Breakfast was OK and hostess friendly but not very interested. Not a place to go back and pay money for !

Nice location if you are driving or like to walk along the seaside. Sara and Gerry were gracious and very helpful throughout my longer stay. Breakfasts were excellent! and varied. Room was clean and fairly quiet. I highly recommend this B&B. The only drawback is that the common/breakfast room is locked in the morning, so we early risers have to stay in the room, or take a nice long walk (which isn't bad really!).

We found the Ross House from a recommendation from the tourist information center. After driving from the rental car lot in Galway ( our first Irish driving experience) we were so happy to settle in to the Ross House. Sara was so amazing. She took care of us as if we were her children! She gave us great ideas of day trips to take as we had no itinerary. The B & B was immaculate and homey. Breakfast was made to order and wonderful. While the rooms and bathrooms are smaller than American lodgings they are very nice, and if we wanted rooms fit to American standards then we should travel in America. Kudos to Sara and the Ross House!

The room was small but neat and clean. Sara was very kind and the breakfast was cook to order and excellent. Location is great - a 10 minute walk to the city center. A very nice stop.
