11 of us experienced Chez Azur's cullinery magic on Saturday last and each of us have ranked it the best in Galway.
Amazing food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff....

This was one restaurant I was really looking forward to trying out as the reviews had been excellent and I particularly love French Food. The location is brilliant just overlooking the docks and there is a nice atmosphere. The restaurant was very quite on the evening we dined there so it was surprising in many respects that service was a little slow to begin with. The starter of Chicken & chorizo salad was underwhelming and lacked flavour, but my friend ordered the goats cheese tartlet and enjoyed this immensely. For the mains, we ordered trio of seafood which again was nice but didnt blow me away with flavours. The vegetables which we ordered on the side were delicious. Would I be excited to go back for a return meal. Maybe......

We ordered the Monkfish and Lemon Sole and Steak dishes. Ordered the steak medium-rare, it was cooked perfectly. Monkfish tasted astonishing. Meal was pricey though, and could possibly have included some vegetables/potatoes instead of these being side-dish options. Nice atmosphere and view of the harbour.

We had a delicious meal here. We had the prawns with sourdough toast for starter which were gorgeous and full of flavour, and just enough sauce for the toast to soak up. Followed by the duo of Sole and Monkfish with mash- really delicious flavours. My friend had the hot seafood platter with six types of seafood- fish and shellfish- cooked beautifully served with sautéed potatoes. Clean plates all around, will return.

Food was absolutely fabulous, particularly the salmon. Very chilled atmosphere there as you're overlooking Galway harbour. The only thing that I had fault with was the manners of those working there, they could have been more polite. However, if you want tasty food i couldn't recommend a tastier place.
