The Secret Garden is a hidden treasure in the funky Dominic St/West End district of Galway city, across the river from the main touristy areas. There is always a lovely chilled out vibe where you can relax on beanbags and enjoy a wide variety of herbal teas. You can also chill out in the sun drenched back garden or enjoy one of the many cultural events that take place here, from acoustic and poetry acts to live dj's and electronic music.

Everytime im in Galway i always go for some tea or coffee in Secret Garden . Why there ? The atmoshphere is very relaxed and friendly and is not noisy and over crowded and with nice music . Personally im more a coffee lover then tea lover but i never had so big cup with tasty capucchino for very good price and believe me its very thick and rich :) also this is the only place in Galway for shisha experience and wow they have these nice tastes which i never seen in Dublin , all i can say even for me as coffee lover i had tried many tastes of tea in Secret Garden because it just smells lovely and you just cant say no :) and once you start you cant stop and the price for tea pot surprised me €2.50 for pot and you can enjoy with fresh bakery mmm.. Everytime i go there for my cuppa i never want to leave the place because its so bohemian you can pick the guitar and start playing or just any of the games they have there and enjoy with friends or just simply read your favourite book sitting on cushions or simply relax , for all bohemian and art lovers i would suggest Secret Garden , thanks to girls for lovely service and experience i had there i deffinetaly will go back as the last time i bought some tea to take home for my friends and is empty now so i need refill :)

Love this place! Aside from having every tea you can ever want, the Secret Garden offers a warm friendly atmosphere and host many events, such as acoustic performances, open mics, swap shops, poetry readings and small markets. I’ve even seen it packed out for belly dancing during the Galway Arts Festival.
It seems a real creative hub for people in Galway as I see writers and musicians meet there in groups or sit alone penning their next poem, song or novel. There is also a house acoustic guitar available for feeling the urge to break into song.
It has a secret garden at the back of the premises and the tea shop itself stays open late, so it is a perfect alternative to catch up with friends if you are not wanting to booze on a school night.
The staff are always very smiley, helpful and accommodating. I would recommend trying the high caffeine mate tea at least once and the chocolate brownies served with cream are quite amazing and I am told are made locally as are all their cakes.

Enjoyed a lovely selection of teas and a smoke of a lovely flavoured sheisha pipe (can't spell!) Anyways really quirky and cool place with pastries to kill for - I mean to die for :-)

Amazing selection of teas (it's impossible not to find at least one that you like), friendly staff, good desserts. The place itself is nice, small, with an intimate atmosphere - but tends to become overcrowded in a moment, especially when there is some event (tea-tasting or live music) and you're not there for the event.
