Stayed at the Connacht Hotel for one week in a two bedroom/Kitchenette set up.
First time visiting Ireland. Room's were average in size, the kitchen was small, but got the job done. We went directly to store and got cleaning supplies to get the kitchen livable. The stove top was greasy and gross, sink was dirty and the inside of the fridge needed to be cleaned. Even the inside of the dishwasher was dirty. Carpets in the rooms were dull and dirty, and the window were smudgy all over. Rooms smelled. Room furnishing were old, dirty, and very uncomfortable. So we cleaned up the rooms as good as possible and for the price decided to live with it. We were on the third floor of one of the buildings and could see across to other building with rooms that had not been cleaned for several says after they were occupied. Cleaning staff was either slow understaffed or the hotel just did not clean rooms right away. Stairways in the hotels had dirty mattresses, used broken furniture, and trash in them. Maybe this is just the Ireland way? But the hotel was dirty, except for the pub and lobby area, they were spotless, probably the cleanest part of the hotel.
