“Yummy Goyas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

Goyas is run on a very simple premise - the best of ingredients, distinct recipes and gorgeous presentation. Goyas is a cafe, a lunch restaurant, a bakery and so much more, a meeting place for those from 8 to 80 yrs. The huge majority of patrons are women, a teen girly treat, a yummy mummy venue and a womens reunion spot for chat and great food. Owned and run by local woman, Emer Murray, Goyas is on Kirwan's Lane in Galway's Latin Quarter. The staff are local women and some have been there for years; the staff are noted for their politeness, helpfulness and ability to cope in a very busy service arena. For Galway folk and visitors, happy to recommend.

“overrated”

A big deal was made of this place when it opened and for a while it was the place to be seen. While the food is nice the prices are not and its prices created the hype. I went in when it was quiet with two companions and we ordered coffee and cakes. Not very difficult to put together. It took some time as our waitress had to go on a cigarette break before serving our order. Its not professional to stand there and smoke in front of the customers while the order remains unserved. While we waited a couple arrived and ordered lunch. They must have been local royalty for amidst much bowing they were served promptly. things like that irritate customers.

“Beautiful food but expensive”

There's no doubting the quality of the baking, it's absolutely GORGEOUS! However, it is very expensive. Great spot for a treat

“PERFECT food, location and hosting. Couldn't recommend more”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

Emer and her lovely staff at Goya's couldn't have been kinder or more hospitable to myself and my group of girlfriends when we organised an 'afternoon tea' on a Saturday at Goya's. They surpassed all expectations with the gorgeous homemade cakes and sandwiches. Absolutely delicious. They were kind and courteous and generous at all times. They even welcomed us with a gorgeous glass of pink bubbly.

I really couldn't recommend them enough and am so grateful to Emer and the staff at Goya's for all they did and for absolutely making our day.

I'm not a local, so can't wait to make my excuse to return to Galway for a wee trip to Goya's!
