We spent two nights at Corrib House.
There are four rooms. The Salmon Weir and the Angler Rest are premium and have superb en suite facilities. The Corrib View had an en suite that us a wet room with shower which is really small - the wet room that is. It's a bathroom with a shower that kind if fills the room. The Corrib Princess has a bathroom the requires a traverse. It isn't en suite but we stayed three and haven that there are only four guest rooms the wonder to the bathroom was fine.
The linens were upscale as was the bed. All top drawer.
The breakfast allowed for individual choice and was very, very filling. The pancakes with maple infused Greek yogurt and fresh fruit compote our favourite.
Staff were the best of all the places that we stated in Ireland. Suggestions great. Friendly and helpful.

This has got to be the best place to stay in Galway. It is so close to the city, but in a quiet location along the Salmon Weir (with the gentle sound of the waterfall outside your window). The breakfasts were the best we had in Ireland...and maybe anywhere. The building is beautiful and tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and a really comfy bed. Lorraine was a one-woman show, since they had closed for the day due to a funeral, but she wore all of her hats well (especially the chef's hat!). If it fits your budget go for it and if it doesn't you should consider splurging anyway (especially if you're looking for somewhere romantic).

Really beautiful Georgian House on the banks of the Salmon Weir just a few blocks off Eyre Square. The common areas and guest rooms were well appointed and gleaming. I had a room overlooking the river with a beautiful claw foot tub in a large bathroom with modern shower. Only 4 guest rooms in Corrib House so you feel like you have the house to yourself. David and Victoria were extremely welcoming and took excellent care of their guests. Breakfast menu was extensive and the food was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone travelling around the Galway area. Unlike one of the earlier reviewers we found the area both safe and quiet. We walked along the river to our dinner reservation (recommended and made by David) and then back to the Corrib House via Eyre Square which made for a perfect evening.

Room Tip: The room called the Salmon Weir had a great view of the river and claw foot tub in a large modern ba...

Stayed at Corrib House for two nights and it was great. Beautiful house incredibly kind staff and located one eighth mile from Eyre Square. A bit pricier at 55 pp but so worth it. The room was beautiful and large. Usually in Galway it's either small or quite a walk. This is the best combination we've found

The house itself is nice so was the room. Great welcome too. The shower was small and lacked pressure. breakfast was good too. the area itself didn't feel safe as it was a little shabby. we didn't feel safe walking late at night coming back from the city. A bit of noise coming from the street late at night. We wanted a quite room but we didn't get one.

Dear Reviewer,

We are all very disappointed to read that you only found your stay with us to be "no more than average" as we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction at Corrib House. If you could please drop me an email to let me know when you stayed with us and in which room as this would allow us to check the issue with the shower water pressure and maybe account for the street noise you describe as we have not had a problem with either before. We check with all our guests on departure if everything was to there satisfaction and I am not aware of any instance where someone found the area to be unsafe or noisy. We are located in a very quite residential area of the city and I can honestly assure you that it is one of the safest areas in Galway City, having lived here myself for a number of years. The less than 10 minute walk home from the main street in the city centre is by another main. well lit street which I have never heard described as unsafe before. The surroundings you describe as a little shabby where we are located are considered one of the city's nicest areas, we are neighbored by mainly listed historic buildings (including our own, the town hall theatre, the city courthouse and Georgian residential buildings) and overlook the picturesque famous Salmon Weir.

Our email address is info@corribhouse.com and I would be very grateful if you could please let us know when you stayed with us as the review doesn't have a name and would like to respond to you directly and address the issues raised.

Kind Regards,
David, Victoria and Corrib House Team

We are just back from a short break in Galway and the first thing we had to do was write our review of this guest house. It was simply lovely!
From the second we entered the house the staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The house has a beautiful hall way and staircase that leads to 4 stunning guest rooms. We had a look into the rooms and all of them were beautiful. We stayed in the Corrib view room, a big room with a beautiful view. The decor was in keeping with the style of the house and it was very clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have been in and as a result I am off to invest in a duck feather duvet as the one in this room was really cosy. My boyfriend commented on the excellent taste of the their coffee he said it was one of the best he had ever had. The breakfasts were very tasty with a great choice on the menu and we were greeted every morning with a smile. I couldn't recommend this house enough. It was a very short walk from all the happenings in Galway but with none of the noise. 5 stars without a doubt we can't wait to get back already!

Room Tip: Any of them they are all fab!
