Flannery's Hotel Galway

My friend and I stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights and were very happy with our decision. We did not rent a car so we were a little concerned that it would be difficult to get into the city center but there was no need to worry. There was a bus right outside the hotel that came every 15 minutes and was extremely easy to navigate. The rooms themselves are small but had everything we needed including free wifi and a tv. We also booked 2 day trips (Connemara and Cliffs of Moher) through the hotel with the bus company, Galway Tour Company, and they were fantastic. They picked us up both mornings from the hotel and dropped us off in Galway at the end which worked out perfectly. We paid $60 a night which did not include the breakfast but we paid for it a few times and it was decent by European standards although nothing to write home about. Overall this hotel was a great deal!

This place was a real disappointment. The Double rooms looked clean and well kept, but the Family/Triple rooms were horrible and not well kept at all. Hair dryer dangerously defective, TV cracked, the list goes on.
It's also not close to Galway city so unless you have your own transport you will most likely need to taxi to and from.

My partner and I stayed on the 4th floor of the hotel . The room was clean but badly needed to be decorated. The carpets were disgusting in the whole hotel . The hotel reminded me of a nursing home there wasnt that many young people. The first morning we went down for breakfast we were left waiting for 10mins to be seated. I looked around the room and there was alot of dirty tables not being cleaned and there was alot of staff around so it wasnt a case were the hotel was short staffed .There was also no orange juice or cornflakes when we arrived down for breakfast . There was no where really to sit down and read a paper after you were finished breakfast . I will not be staying in this hotel ever again !!!
