“Nice big rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

Alot bigger hotel than i thought it would be.. Rooms had comfortable beds and good size rooms. A little bit out of the town centre, but that wasnt a bug problem for us. Didnt eat in the bistro as it is the oyster festival on this weekend.

Rooms very clean, staff fantastic, ( early check-in with a smile). Breakfast fit for a king/queen. Only negative is that it's just a bit far out(€8-10 taxi).... But all in all a very nice stay... Again, staff were great.

I've stayed at this hotel twice in two years and I would stay again. It has wonderful, friendly staff, the hotel is charming and close enough to the city to access everything. The rates are very reasonable and, to be honest, I couldn't fault the hotel. They made my stay very comfortable and as such, Galway was the highlight of my trip!

Room Tip: They have always fulfilled any special requests I have, so just specify what you would like and they...

I found the staff and hotel pleasant enough but was surprised by the large size of the place. The hotel is easy enough to find but is a bit far from the town. There is a bus stop outside but this does not help if you want to have a night out drinking etc. The service and food was good in the Bistro.

We had a very comfortable stay, excellent rates, breakfast had a good variety. Staff at reception and restaurant were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay there again. Loads of parking a available. Close to the city centre.

Stayed in Flannery's last month for 1 night. Arrived at 12 noon as had hospital appointment nearby at 1pm. We were able to book in then which was a big plus for us, the receptionist was most pleasant and helpfull. Found the Barfood to be excellent and very reasonable price and Breakfast was also good. The bus stop is just outside the hotel if you wish to go into city without the problem of finding a parking spot. IWe were sorry that had only 1 night there and we would hope to return.

I don't understand how this hotel is 3 stars, it should only be a 1. It needs a serious make over, I've stayed in other hotels and made to feel welcome from the start. The staff here were very aloof and not interested, no manners or professionalism. I came back one night to find the card to enter the room stopped working, so on seeking help from the reception I came across the night staff member with his feet up playing on his mobile phone, no eye contact or acknowledgement when dealing with this problem. The rooms were very basic and it felt like stepping back in time, our view was the car park, not a big deal but the blinds were kept shut the entire stay. I have to agree with another reviewer, the dining area, or pub, was like an old people's residential area, dark and boring, I couldn't relax, just wanted to get out of there. The food was ok, the bar staff were ok, not very welcoming or made to feel appreciated for our custom.
