“Solid Galway pub”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Our hotel is across the street from this pub and when we arrived, our room wasn't ready. We had an hour to kill and were severely jet-lagged, so we limped across the street to grab a bite. They serve breakfast until mid-day, so we opted for the egg, sausage, and bacon in toasted ciabatta bred with a side of chips. Very tasty. We are going back tonight for our farewell Galway meal and drinks. Nice and close to Eyre Square.

“Great Atmospere and Friendly Pint.”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Second time visiting this local Pub and was definitely as fun as the previous time. So much so we consecutively went two nights in a row this time around.

Friendly staff who are very happy to help when it comes to answering your questions on the City. A Pint of Heineken will cost you nearly 5Euro but if you opt for Tennants you can pick up a Pint for 3Euro Midweek.

The craic in this Local Irish Pub is phenomenal, there is live music most nights with local bands and Irish folk music being played in the corner. Don't worry about asking for a request because if they can play it they'll do it. The cliche moment when your partner asks for "Galway Girl" in the heart of Galway. God only no's how many times they've been asked that in the past.

One of the things that stands out in this pub is all the memorabilia that has been left from punters in the past ranging from Money Notes to Police Badges. It seems this little haunt welcomes every walk of life.

I was annoyed not to try any of the food on offer as i watched it pass me, it smelt and looked incredible. I'll have to ensure that next time i'm in Galway I make a trip here around Lunch time.

“Good place for Irish live music!”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

I went there with a group of friends (around 30) for enjoying a group dinner! We had a very special menu with a good variety of choices. We were planning to move to another place after dinner but we decided not to move because of the Great Live Music! Three talented musicians where really enjoying playing music and singing along! That spirit was contagious and everyone started to join the fun!!!

“A Wonderfull Evening . . . . .”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

My wife and I decided to sample the craic in the "Pucan" for a change on our visit to Galway and boy did we get a pleasant surprise. I had been there once before on a previous vist just for a drink but this time we had a steak each and its among the best we have ever had! Prices are very reasonable too and while we had to leave before the music got into full swing there was still a great atmosphere. The "Pucan" has a great reputation and its not hard to see why as the staff were very friendly too.
All in all a great evening and we will be back when we are down this way again.

“Great Irish Pub”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We ended up at An Pucan upon the recommendation of our B&B host. It was a great suggestion. Good pub food...my kids and I shared the mussels to start, my daughter and I both had the curry, and my son had the bangers and mash. Great service. We were sorry to miss the entertainment, but we had had a long day, driving to and from the Cliffs of Moher.
