“" It's tiny and brilliant... A boutique restaurant ...A must ..."”
Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Went back here tonight. It was full. That's easy when it's so small. Then I listened to the accents. It was mainly local. This is Ireland's most multi cultural city. When locals vote for a restaurant it's good. I had the bruscetta to start ... Just like what I had in Rome last Friday. My partner had a veggie pizza... She claimed it was excellent. House Wine Crianza excellent. I had the pasta with Italian sausage OMG. Just perfection. The chef here is good. He knows his cooking. He knows his food. If your idea of Italian food is " ketchup type toppings"... Then this is not for you... But if you appreciate good" Iti" food.. then it's a must... But this is really small and crowded ... Thats part of it's charm...

“No. 1 ITALIAN IN GALWAY”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

This little hideaway has become our local italian which just attracts us time and time again. The menu is varied, the food (especially the pizza) is excellent as are the portions & very reasonable priced. Simon & staff treat their customers with extreme courtesy and now greet us as old friends. Although I do miss the head waiter who seems to have moved on.
Looking forward to returning again.

“How to eat with your elbows tucked in by your side...”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

I have to agree with the review from Galway that this place is a bit overrated and very very cramped to really enjoy eating in. Had booked here because of Trip Advisor but on entering I wanted to leave immediately so maybe we didnt get off to the best start. The room is about 20 foot by 12 foot in size and there are about 12 tables in that small area and unless you are in a group and take over the restaurant you will have to endure the conversations of nearly everyone else in the place. Food wise we tried the brushetta which was on a pizza base but looked and tasted ok even though its not a proper brushetta. The mains were a pizza which was good and I tried the special which was tagliatelle in butternut squash sauce with chillies asparagus and prawns. The tagliatelle tasted as if it was overcooked and a bit rubbery and I didnt really take to the sauce but the prawns were fresh and tasty. Tried the house red which was nice but personally will not visit again because there are many many other, better restaurants in Galway!
