“Goes the extra mile!”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Had dinner in this restaurant over the weekend as it was recommended by friends. Have to say it was a most enjoyable experience. Food was great and ambience equally as good. Efficient polite staff who were more than willing to help and did so with a smile. Yummy deserts too but for me the most pleasure came from the fact they catered for gluten/wheat intolerant customers, made choosing off the menu an enjoyable experience as the choice was great. Will definitely be back next time we are in Galway. Wish there was a similar restaurant in Dublin.

I've been to the High Cafe two times and it's delicious. Really good food for great prices! You have to try the Banoffe Cake - yummi!

“I want to eat here all the time”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

This is by far the best restaurant in Galway for me and my friends. I have eaten here a number of times and am always impressed. The portions are huge and the food is tasty. This place will not be beaten on price. Im a vegetarian so there is good choice for my diet. The food is always presented well. Finally, a city center restaurant that know what people want.

“Average food, Terrible Service!”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

Went to this place for lunch one day. Ordered a dish from the menu called 'Marinated Chicken Wings and Goujons'. Received a bowl of dry goujons. We then asked the waitress about the chicken wings, so she went to the kitchen and came back, and then decided to tell us that they were out of chicken wings. The waitress was really apologetic and explained that she was unaware that they were out of wings.

We asked to change the order, she then went upstairs to talk to the manager, who didn't even have the decency to come down stairs and apologise, but just told the waitress that we could not change our order.

We then told her that we did not want to pay for the dish, so she went back up to the manager who still wasn't bothered to come down. She told us that we could only have a discount of €2.
Having had enough of this, we just decided to pay and leave.

Would not recommend this place to anyone.
