“walking in Galway”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

While staying in Galway we took advantage of the good weather and went for a walk along the promenade in Salthill. It is a very popular place for walkers and runners of all ages, shapes and sizes, people were pushing chairs from baby strollers to disabled wheelchairs to old age wheelchairs and everyone seemed to be enjoying the gentle sea breezes that were coming in. There were plenty of seats along the way if you needed a rest and the whole place was clean with lots of stations along the way to get 'clean up' bags if you were walking a dog, a nice touch I thought. The views across the water was just beautifully peaceful, watching the sun cast shadows changing the landscape, well worth taking time out to just sit.

“Go for a walk/run along the Promenade”

Such a stunning view of the bay, especially on a clear day at sundown! Even if you're staying in Galway, it's a 20 minute walk at most, and well worth it.

“lovely walk”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

we had amazing weather so we walked the Promenade. The tide was out and the water like glass. Lots of mommies and strollers, and joggers. We kicked the wall and headed back to Eyres Square for shopping and dinner.

“Clean and scenic”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

A beautiful place to walk and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Galway bay. The promenade is well maintained and is continually busy with walkers, jiggers and those enjoying a leisurely stroll. The sea breeze can be bracing but does your heart good taking in the beautiful views.

When fog cleared, lovely view of the burren and the Aran islands. Fun running along the Prom. Often windy.
