“Modern but awe-inspiring”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We had seen views of this in the Jack Taylor TV series and despite a locally characteristic greyness in the stone from which it is made, the shape and design of the place is intriguing and the inside very rich and solemn.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

Incredible place. It's a very uplifting experience. As a side note, The gift shop was a great place to pick up religious gifts for hard to find family members at home.

“Extraordinary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

European cities=visits to cathedrals, yes? My daughter yawns. Well, this is a completely different experience. Built in the mid-twentieth century, Galway Cathedral is peaceful, modern with amazing dramatic stained glass--some reflectively violent depicting stories from both the old and new testaments. Intended to just pop in and stayed for quite awhile, drawn by the power, peace, art and majesty. Definitely the high point of Galway.

“Beautiful church with so much history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

Very large church that has been well maintained and lots of areas to explore and learn. The stained glass was incredible and my kids were in awe by the massiveness and beauty of the church. It is fairly easy to get to and parking is vast, although it was a bit confusing as to how to pay for the parking as you have to find a somewhat hiding meter.

“Gorgeous Stained Glass!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013

I love the Cathedral and visit it often. There are gorgeous stained glass windows that will come out beautifully in your pictures--even if you don't think the lighting is right, go ahead and snap a few photos--you'll be surprised! Besides admiring the architecture, you will find a quietly serene place to spend a few quite moments in the city.
