“Gorgeous Cathedral”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

We felt this was one of the nices cathedrals we visited on our trip to Ireland. It was absolutely lovely inside. The stained glass windows were beautiful. Be sure to seek out the contemporary painting of Mary and baby. It was lovely. The stations of the cross were beautiful. We felt that there was a up lifting presence here. Take time to enjoy the beauty of this lovely cathedral.

“Beautiful Cathedral”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Short distance from our B&B made this a must see. Beautiful building that doesn't require a lot of time to look around if you have a few spare minutes just to see the architecture alone.

“Close encounters of the Spiritual kind!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

I've been to quite a few cathedrals in Europe but only a few exude the kind of sacred ambiance it is meant to. The Galway Cathedral is very much one of those few. Apart from the magnificent architecture and the stained glasses, this cathedral demands to be more than just a touristic cathedral. The separate chapel for Mary, the inspiring quotes and definitions of a prayer, remain in your heart long after you've left the cathedral.
The perfect place to get in touch with your soul.

“Nice way to pass an hour”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

While staying in Salthill for a few days I decided to go and see the Galway Cathederal just for something else to do. It was easy to find as it is well signposted. I am not a very religious person but it was nice to go and see its beautiful interior and stained glass windows.

“Modern Cathedral funded by Irish-American”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

Built at the late 60’s from donations from Massachusetts catholic. Visited by John F Kennedy and opened by Cardinal Cushing who celebrated the first mass in this church.

Modern cathedral has stunning atained glass windows, black Connemara local marble and stunning mosaic figure in the walls including one of the local heroes and JFKennedy (in prayer) flanking the Saviour
