We were very disappointed with the rooms at this hotel....it was not at all what we expected. The room smelt damp and the window whistled all night as it was so badly fitted....
The service is good and the restaurant excellent but the staff deserve a hotel they can be proud of not ashamed.....More
My wife and I stayed several nights recently after a week in the UK - hotel is old style - larger than typical rooms, good baths, large comfortable common areas - good locale for touring Connemara by car - Salthill strand was grand - proximity to Galway centre also good - I dis recommend driving in - bus / cab much more convenient and cheaper if staying more than a few hours. We would come back - trad show on lower level also very convenient.

We got married in April 2013 and had our reception in the Galway Bay Hotel and we just cannot compliment the hotel enough.
From our initial enquiries, throughout all the preparations and on the day itself, all the staff we dealt with were exceptional. Special word of thanks to John, Declan and Barbara for handling everything so smoothly. All our guests were equally happy with the hotel.
Regards the food, the meal went down really well with everyone, our guests loved the duck and the chocolate fondant was exceptional. I can honestly say the breakfast is the best I've had in any hotel, in terms of quality and choice. We've eaten in The Lobster Pot before and the restaurant is excellent in its own right.
The rooms are spacious and spotless and the location is excellent, spectacular on a sunny day overlooking Galway Bay. If you're looking for a wedding venue or break away, look no further, you just can't go wrong.

We have just returned from our Son's wedding at Galway Bay Hotel not only with a new Daughter but with praise and admiration for this Hotel. From the moment we arrived the service was professional, friendly and extremely Guest orientated. We cannot fault it. The Hotel made sure that this special day went without a hitch and they succeeded. Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night as Guests but would have loved to have stayed longer. As far as the wedding itself was concerned and speaking as someone who has personallly supervised weddings in my own career, this Hotel did themselves and our son John and daughter-in-law Susn proud. I could't recommend the whole package highly enough. We would like to extend our thanks to ALL the staff and especially Bridie,Chris and Mary and Managers from Banquetting and to the Girls on Reception...you were all Stars...give yourselves a big 'pat on the back' and ask for a pay rise immediately...you all deserve it....well done and THANK YOU....M.

Stay at the hotel on a three day package with two kids. From check-in this was nothing but a positive experience. Staff were excellent with nothing too much to ask. As part of the package we had two evening meals included. This was not normal hotel but restraunt food at its best. A very special word to our waitress Kate. She treated us with style and respect at all times. The hotel should be proud of her. The room was clean and we wanted for nothing. Outside the hotel was very well kept and commanded an excellent location overlooking the sea. For those without transport, the bus stop for Galway is 1min outside the gate.

My wife and I were on a CIE Tours of Ireland, and had the pleasure of staying at your hotel for two nights. We can't say enough good things about the management and staff of the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, and the meals were outstanding. The location was ideal for an after dinner walk along Galway Bay. We very much enjoyed our stay, and hope we can return someday soon!
