I stayed here recently.Certainly a good location. Hotel was only ok, room was small but clean. There was a terrible smell up through the stairways which was digusting, a couple of air fresheners wouldn't go astray. Staff were friendly enough no problems there. Hotel seems to cater for alot of Hens and Stags.Overall the stay wasn't bad.

Our first time visiting Galway and sadly probably our last! What can I say.... Awful hotel, awful receptionist so bad that we checked out at 11pm and drove 3 hours back to Cork. To start the rooms are old fashioned, miserable and kinda depressing! Dont expect to have a restful stay because the music will keep you awake for most of the night. The receptionist was so rude and unsympathetic when we checked out that I was forced to write a letter of complaint when we got home. I have never written a letter of complaint! I received a reply letter about a week later and all I can say is it was a pathetic apology and a she attached a copy of our booking reference which stated that 'there was a bar in the hotel and that you may experience some noise'. SOME NOISE.. Come on? We have stayed in plenty of hotels which have bars and nightclubs but you dont expect to feel like your sleeping on the dancefloor!!
So please please please dont stay here it was the worst experience of our lives.

Five of us stayed here last March for a girly weekend away. We got a good two night deal B&B with one evening meal included so didn't care once we had a bed to sleep in. Rooms are clean and average, no view but then again you're in a city so who spends much time in the room. I would definitely stay here again, you can't beat it for value (if you get a good deal).

I also stayed there about two years ago with my boyfriend, a few problems but nothing that would turn me off staying again. Great location, staff are helpful, food in the restaurant was good and nice atmosphere in the bar.

Having managed hotels for the past ten years, i can honestly say that the eyre square hotel is a little gem of a property. It's prime location is the reason i booked the hotel and did not expect too much from my stay as many city centre hotels are just pubs with rooms, no matter how well they try to hide the fact. But, from the moment we checked in to the hotel, i knew we would be treated superbly and that we were there to fill up the hotel. The reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient, made us feel very welcome and were very informative throughout our stay, booking restaurtants, ordering taxis and so on. in Fact all of the staff were very co-operative and made us fell very relaxed for the entire stay. Food in the hotel was delicous and extremly reasonable for the quantity and quality we recieved. The hotel stay added to what was a magical weekend in Galway, and we would have no hesitation returning the Eyre Square hotel in the future. In fact we recommended the hotel to friends and family, some of them have used it and agreed totally. A little Gem!!!

Had a family get together in Oct (got engaged!!!) and two days before the party our water boiler flooded our house. Needless to say we needed somewhere to put family members up for the weekend. The reception staff in Eyre Square Hotel could not have been more helpful. One even went out of her way to help my ,soon to be wife :), organise a family dinner for some relatives. Overall expierience was fantastic. Location was perfect for showing elderly relatives the town without any big journeys involved, and it was great to be able to have a few drinks anywhere in town AND still to be within walking distance of the hotel.
