Would recommend this hotel for location only. It is quite run down and the rooms are a bit dirty, the curtains and net curtains were absolutely filthy, the net curtains in particular looked as though they had never been washed since they were put up. The walls were quite dirty also. The rooms are very dated, the furniture and beds are very old and the tv’s are just little portable ones with a tiny screen, possibly only an 11 inch but to be fair, the bed wasn’t too uncomfortable and the bed linen was clean and crisp and the bathroom was also very clean, with a good strong shower. The lighting in the room is also extremely dim, and as a result the room is quite dark, I found it difficult to stay in it for too long, but maybe that’s the point. Do not stay in this hotel if you are looking for comfort and intending to spend a lot of time there. It suited my boyfriend and I as we were just down for a nite on the town so we were out til late. On the upside, the breakfast was quite good, with lots of everything on offer including a full Irish. Cant fault its location, its bang in the centre of town, pubs and shops only 5 mins walk away but I wouldn’t be rushing back to stay here again to be quite honest but for the money we paid, I cant really complain too much as you do get what you pay for, so would definitely pay the extra to stay somewhere else in galway next time.

Excellent location, very convenient to Galway city centre but thats where it ends. The windows of our room were leaking due to the heavy overnight rain. So when it wasn't raining, it was draughty. The rain getting in seems to be an ongoing problem to such an extent that the window boards were rotting. The heating in the room was tempremental bordering on the non existent. We stayed in a room on the 4th Floor where the water pressure in shower was pretty poor, also no wifi contrary to what the hotel has advertised. All in all won't be back. Would suit stag & hen parties where creature comforts may not be too high on the listsof priorities.

A large group of girls went down to stay for the weekend. The staff were extremely friendly from the start. We were all delighted with the sizes of our rooms which were all next to each other. We all thought the staff were great and really helpful. the value was brilliant and it was in such a great location. We'll be going back again

Room Tip: Ring the hotel and just ask

While the Victoria hotel provided a nice and clean room and a good bathroom, the hotel could not even make a sandwich when I got back to the hotel after a gig, approx 22:00 (kitchen closes at 21:00). On their website and in the room booklet, they claim to provide free wifi, but neither on the 4th floor (where my room was) not on the ground floor was there any wifi available.

Room Tip: Pick 4th floor, as noisy disco on ground floor is heard all the way up to 3rd floor.

Great hotel with really good quality rooms with plenty of space also. Good affordable pricing and so close to everything you need in Eyre Square but far enough away from too much noise, etc. which is just perfect. Staff were very pleasant and always around to help. Stayed for 2 nights but wished we could of stayed longer thoroughly enjoyed our visit! :)
