“Brilliant!”

I stayed here with 7 other friends for two nights. We were in an 8 bed dorm. The dorm itself was big, and very clean. The beds were nice and very comfortable. The communal toilets and showers were always clean, and the showers were really good.
The communal area in the hostel has really big comfy couches and chairs and there are many games and books. There is also a couple of guitars, a piano and a bodhrán for guests to use. Guests could use the common room area and drink there until 4am, which is great. There are 3 really good Mac computers with fast internet for the guests to use. There was also free wifi available.
The kitchen was well stocked and there was many fridges to store food. These facilities were all very clean too.
The free breakfast which is included was great. There was hot scones, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, tea/coffee. It was much better than the usual 'free' breakfast that many hostels offer.
The hostel staff were all very nice and helpful. They can organise very good value trips to nearby attractions such as the Burren, or the Aran Islands.
There is a big fridge in the reception with bottles of water for only 50c!
The location is also very good, it's only a two minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Shop Street and it's only a minutes walk from a supermarket and an off licence.
If you're going to stay in Galway, I cannot recommend this hostel highly enough. It is definitely the best hostel I have stayed at in Ireland.

Kinlay House is an extremely good hostel. It has a good location, as it is close to the main pubs and the main street(s). The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The showers are fine- not dirty at all, but communal so nothing exceptional. There is a free breakfast (definite perk). I think my favorite thing about the hostel was the friendly staff. They were very helpful and insightful. I received information about the city- where to eat (a very good inexpensive fish restaurant- McDonaugh's), how to get to different locations, and even a route to run (from the hostel, to the town, and on the Claddagh). I would recommend this hostel for the budget traveler & I would definitely stay here again. LOVED Galway.

These people know how to run a hostel, courteous, knowledgable staff, great facility and quiet rooms at night. Located right off the city square very close to the entertainment district and bus station

Room Tip: You can party all night in the common room but quiet is required in the bedrooms after 11:00pm

Very friendly personnel. They were also very helpful for every question we asked and they gave us nice advises. The rooms are quite simple except the carpet!! There was a map from the town on it, very nice idea!
The price was absolut ok and included some extras like internet, printing something, and some more things.

Stayed at Kinlay for my stag. As hostels go Kinlay would definitely be one of the better ones I stayed at. The staff were courteous and well experienced at dealing with stags and hens. The cost was very reasonable. The location could not be better with many excellent watering holes right on your door step or within a short walking distance. There is a noise deposit that must be paid but I got the impression you would have to be very loud not to get it back. Overall perfect for our needs.

I was nervous about staying here after an awful experience at Kinlay House in Cork, but from the moment of walking through the doors I realised I worried for nothing. Clean, vibrant, friendly & in an awesome location! The friendliest & most welcoming hostel if my Irish stay, with really nice common areas & dining rooms....rooms could be a tiny bit better with 6 beds in them, but that's the tiniest of complaints
