i stayed in this hotel with friends... hotel is a very generous word this is basically a bed and breakfast with a bar. smell of must throughout the hotel and the decore leaves a lot be be desired. to reach our room we had to walk through what appeared to be a make shift classroom, which had ppl in it when we were leaving the following morning. our room was clean and it is grand if you do not plan to spend long in the "hotel". breakfast was not included in our rate and we did not stay for breakfast as we found the price they were charging too expensive and the place just looked cramped where you would be eating.
on the upside the price was reasonable and for the trip we were having which was just a girls nite out it suited us fine as all we wanted was a bed to sleep in. the owners/staff are friendly just dont go there expecting a star rated hotel

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. I would like to point out that we are graded as a two star hotel and all hotels are inspected every year by TAMS who are the official Irish hotel grading inspector agency.
I disagree with your comments regarding the "smell of must throughout" and " the decore throughout leaves a lot to be desired", in fact none of these facts are true as we had our hotel regular inspection only in the last couple of weeks by TAMS and no figurative mention of this was apairent. Infact the inspector refers the style as "olde traditional and pleasantly friendly". Your mention of a "make shift classroom " is also not true, areeably there was a group of persons having a discussion and this area, which was requested by a resident of the Hotel. Regarding the breakfast room , it is adequate for the size of the hotel and as you did not have breakfast or use any of our facilities, I fear it difficult that you can make an accurate observation on this.

Kind regards
The Manager/Proprietor

I have stayed in this small quiet Galway hotel over the years and have always been very satisfied with my visits. I stayed there again a few weeks ago and had no reason to change my opinion. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is first-class and cooked to order. It is great to get a way from the tired, reheated breakfast components that one encounters all too often in Ireland. It is always very good value for money. Each time I go back I am greeted like a long-lost relation!

We stayed here because the pictures on the web looked very inviting. On arrival to our rooms I felt likechecking out again, but it was too late in the day to find alternative accommodation. The musty smell in the rooms was terrible. The showers just about worked. The room and bed was clean, but very cold and could do with some brightening up. The room was definitly overpriced. I/we will not be staying here again.

The website paints a lovely picture, but the Anno Santo does not deliver. The interior & furnishings are old, which I don't mind, but the musky smell I do. The place was cold, in temperature and atmosphere, and the staff made little effort to be welcoming. We asked for breakfasts which never came and had to make do with whatever was at the buffet. It was over priced too. The only good thing about the hotel was it's proximity to Salthill. Steer clear, unless you're hard up.

Room Tip: Book somewhere else.

Stayed in The Anno Santo Hotel on business over the last week, I must strongly recommend what a brilliant hotel with excellent service by both owners and staff. Everything was excellent including a freshly cooked fry every morning, Served with a smile .. Just what you need on a cold January morning before you head out to work in the extreme Galway climate.
The rooms represent excellent value whilst still delivering everything one needs whilst away on business or pleasure. There is also a bar to unwind in the evenings which is very cosy indeed.
I certainly will be back next time i'm visiting Galway.
Great Value/Great place to stay... Many Thanks!

My kids and I were driving through Ireland with a friend and her two kids. We stumbled upon Anno Santo by chance - and we were pleasantly surprised by this personal bed & breakfast! Jerry & Joanna were extremely friendly and helpful! We were invited down to the bar for tea.. The rooms were clean, roomy and so quaint! Our room had a double bed and a single bed, our own bathroom, changing area and desk. The breakfast was included and was fresh and delicious. If you are staying in the Galway area, Ann Santo is the place to stay. It was close to the city, for easy sightseeing. The rooms are quiet and the beds are super comfortable. We hope to go back soon and spend more time with Jerry & Joanna.

Room Tip: The triple room had plenty of room for us.

My young daughters and I stayed here for a night. We were driving around Ireland and stumbled upon the Anno Santo. First, Jerry and Joanna are were so kind and welcoming. We felt like "family". Jerry carried our luggage to our room and then invited us back up for tea. The room was spacious and clean. The pub was great. Nice hanging out with the locals. For breakfast, we chose the "standard" meal. It was delicious and the table was set beautifully. We hope to return one day. Well priced and a great visit.
