“Harbour Hotel”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the city so very central and set in the harbour, a lovely area. It is close to the city without being noisy. The lobby was done in limes/purples and there was plenty of seating and a lovely smell of food from the bar. The room we stayed in was a triple room and was a bit clausterphobic. The narrow doorway/hallway into the room made it feel smaller than it was. The windows only opened a crack aswell which didn't help matters. I have no doubt this is due to health and safety but nonehteless it made the room feel stuffy. The shower was complicated to work. Other than that the room was lovely, with big leather headboards and a spacious bathroom. The room service menu was extensive and the 24 hour menu was a novel idea that I hadn't come across before. We ordered the snack for 2, which had no tray charge which was a great idea to promote it. The food was delivered promptly and was very tasty. There was more than enough for 2, despite the fact they forgot the tempura prawns on our tray. Breakfast was a buffet served in the bar, which has some lovely big "booth" type tables for groups dining together. The buffet was extensive and well stocked. Overall was very impressed with the hotel it was clean and modern and the staff were very friendly and a great location.

Not only was the staff amazing, the hotel manager went above and beyond for our CIE group. She assisted with maps, directions, scones, etc! Our room as just perfect and we enjoyed the complimentary wireless and especially the breakfast. The breakfast buffet has not only the normal Irish breakfast but healthy options as well (thank you!) The Front Desk gave us some good tips on shopping and even lent me a power converter! Nice hotel and staff!

I just stayed here for one night. It is close to all of the late night activities Galway has to offer but not so close that it's too noisy. I've stayed here a few times now and the rooms are always clean, staff always friendly, and breakfast always big.

Myself and my wife have stayed in this hotel before and went back in June for a midweek break. We found all the staff very friendly, courteous and professional. The hotel is very clean, modern and a 2 minute walk from city centre and bustling nightlife, though these are in no way intrusive. The food was excellent and restaurant and bar service was great. Reception desk staff were knowledgable and professional. THere is a carpark attached with a very reasonable daily fee. The hotel was quite busy with a good friendly atmosphere and a mix of business and holiday guests. We are already talking about next years break in Galway and we will definately book the Harbour.

Waiting staff forgetting a lunch order I
can forgive; then getting the order wrong I can live with; being serenaded by thumping music in the next room at 5pm while changing for dinner out I start to get worried; being kept awake till 4.45am by customers sitting outside having a party & then popping helium balloons in their rooms I despair.
Do not come here unless your part of a Hen Party or Stag group - spoiled a great day & night out with friends.

my partner and i went for few days in april could not fault the staff on reception and the decor off the hotel was lovely. the rooms were lovely and clean unfortunaly i got sick and had to leave a day early and we checked out and before i got on the motorway i got a phone call to say to check my bags for a tissue box which i had taken by mistake. i had not taken this tissue box and asked the value of it. they said aroun ten euro.i was very upset and i rang back later that night and left a few message no one got back to me and eventually a few days later i got the manager who said it was hadled badly by his staff. i have travelled the world and i have never got a phonecall like it. i still have not got an apology and feel a tissue box missing from the room is a very insignficant thing to be ringing accusing someone off taking

will not be going back to this hotel
