Description: The Oslo Bar in Salthill boasts the first and only Microbrewery in Galway which offers a great range of international beers, fresh food and a variety of novel evenings. With an ever changing menu the Oslo keeps people coming back to enjoy the many creative dishes inspiried by "in-season and fresh" ingredents. There is a wide range of international beers but while there you should try our own Bay Ale and Stormy Porter - brewed right on the premises. The front portion contains a comfortable range of eclectic furniture and the back part, set up with German beer garden style sturdy tables. The name Oslo itself comes from the Oslo Hotel which once encompassed the whole premises.Focused on food with a daily menu served from 12 until 10 daily. Select from a good range of interesting dishes. Enjoy the Weekend with brunch including Eggs Benedict and French toast which has fast become something of a Galway institution. An open fire and large comfortable smoking area tick a few more boxes making the Oslo a really great destination.

My fiance and I ended up at Oslo last evening per a reccomendation from a man in Kilkenny. We are always on the hunt for great beer bars and if the food is great as well, it's a bonus! We had the dip platter as an appetizer, which was delicious, the fish & chips and the lentil dahl, all of which were great. We had two small beer samplers and a couple of half pints and if you have a chance, the Imperial IPA is incredible!

Kate was our server/bartender and we couldn't have asked for better service, she was amazing! Incredibly helpful and happy to give suggestions on which beers were worth trying. Also, when we were seeking a little insight on Irish dining, she gave us some great information like...

As an American in Ireland... ask for your check! They find it rude to just bring it over to you, while we are used to it being brought over to us. It's not servers ignoring you, it's custom. We would have never known this and are glad that we do.

Cheers!

We ended up in Oslo last weekend by pure chance - walked along the promenade and ending up there! I didn't really know much of the place, so was pleasantly surprised when we went in. Lovely modern, but still sort of rustic interior, with large wooden tables etc. Really interesting menu, with plenty to suit all tastes. All of our meals were delicious, all plates were cleared! After spotting someone elses, we discovered you could get a tasting platter for the various beers and ales on offer - which were too many to count! This was great as we could get a few small glasses of the various brews to taste and share, before committing to any one in particular. All the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful, and the barman was very knowledgeable about the brews on offer. Great mix of people in here as well, couples, tourists, families, groups etc. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, and will definitely return on our next trip to Galway and Salthill.

I was part of a party of four on recent Saturday night and we were all disappointed. Food very tasty but servings much too small, a bit mean really.
Service was rough and ready, staff very slow to come to table and were not that friendly more cold business like. We had to get our own menu's to order desert cos the staff were not coming our way after a long wait.
Biggest shock of all was the price for a glass of white wine €7.10, totally over the top.

On holiday in Galway. This place is a beer lover's paradise. They brew their own ales on site, and unlike a lot of places with their own micro brewery, this stuff really is the business. The porter, red ale and especially the IPA were all really fine examples of the style. On top of this the beers from outside were all top notch craft ales. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what they were selling, and the food was excellent. We took advantage of the midweek offer of a burger and a pint for 12.50 euros. Fantastic value considering the quality of the fayre. If I could choose a local, this might be it. Unfortunately I live on the other side of the continent.

Just had a nice lunch at the oslo. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Food comes on a wooden kind of tray. Ok if your food is not messy. Would return.
