“Happy couple”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Staff were really friendly, genuine smiles all round. Very busy at the time. Food was delicious, could not fault it in any way. We thought the side orders were pricey!!

“great seafood”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

I was recommended this restaurant by hotel staff and was lucky to get early table the same (Friday) evening. Never mind the ceiling or the chairs, the ambience was just fine; not pretentious but cheery. Staff gave just the right level of attention.
We had the platter, lobster and swordfish: that was so fresh it wasn't even in the specials list.
Best fish I've had in the British Isles.
Also less expensive than I'd expected and worth every cent. Marvellous.

“fish supper in race week”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

famous local restaurant which we booked at 24 hours notice in busy race week; suprisingly un-busy when we got there at 8.30 PM the next day.
The fish was excellent, both starter and mains; the atmosophere was informal and provincial and yet the food presented in a sophisticated way. Recommended!

“Spectacular Meal - Prawns, Mussels, Tuna, Oysters and Great Service”
Reviewed August 15, 2014

We were lucky enough to get a reservation at Oscar's while we were in town. Easily the best meal in a week of traveling - perhaps the best meal we've had in 2 1/2 weeks while traveling throughout the country. The prawn appetizer was so good, we ordered a second one and crushed it - almost ordered a 3rd - no kidding! I had the tuna special which the waitress said came from the sea this morning - as did the swordfish. We also had the KG of mussels which was a mound of food with an incredible wine-based cleansing bowl for each tasty mussel.

The neighborhood - particularly directly across the street from the restaurant is seedy - with an exotic dance parlor across the front door from Oscar's. Too bad they couldn't have found a better neighborhood for such a great restaurant. Perhaps with their success, they will buy out these sleazy places and turn the neighborhood over.

We will definitely be back!

Absolutely stunning food. Good portions. Great taste. Great service. Thoughly recommend. Fancy opening one in liverpool? Only outdone by a very expensive fish restaurant in reykavik, 'the fish market' eat in this Galway version
