“Good food and even better atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

The food was pretty good but the Quays is just an all around wonderful place to go. More for the late night music and atmosphere though. I would suggest going here for a cool place to hang out more so than to eat but it was still good!

“Atmosphere and Cultural Experience Here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

The Quays is a cultural staple in Galway City. The atmosphere is top notch and the food is pretty good. You can feed the whole family here with their family friendly, Irish traditional menu. Both restaurant and pub, the atmosphere changes depending on time of day you visit. Quiet lunch in great location with amazing atmosphere. Fun pub crowd and good music at night.

“unsure”

I used to always eat here with my boyfrind last year and this year i took a firend there for dinner and it was horible...all preheated food was presented to us. staff were texting all the time and not paying attenetion to customers. they were reapplying there make up in the middle of work. customers had to wait to be served while staff reapplied there make up. i used to love this restuarant but not its awful. would not go back again or reccommend it to a friend. The male waiter is hughly missed.

“It's alright!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

We were staying in Galway for a couple of nights. Dropped in here for a few drinks the first night, the bar man was lovely and friendly. We sat at the small bar on the left and chatted to him. Atmosphere was really nice for a thurs night.
Dropped in again on the fri and had a different experience. We fancied oysters so ordered them. We bought a couple of beers at the bar beforehand. The waitress came over with brown bread so we were eating this when our dozen natural oysters arrived 2 mins later. The next line out of the waitress mouth is "that's €23". I found it completely rude and uncalled for. My other half took out his laser card and paid the lady, we waited for her to take the machine back to tap in his pin.... At this stage our oysters were just sitting on the table. Other people around us ate food and paid afterwards. Is this something they do with oysters? Or was waitress just picking on us? I was disappointed and that waitress done herself out of a nice tip from us. Anyway the oysters weren't great. Very average. They served oysters with tarter sauce which is very unusual. We bought one more drink but left soon after. At that stage bar was pretty full and they had removed most of the seating. Won't be rushing back
