Stayed here for a sailing weekend and it was just the spot, rooms were clean, staff friendly and breakfast excellent. A fair distance from Galway centre, so if you're after that it might not be ideal but otherwise highly recommended

I recently organised a party here for 40 people. We had just cycled from Dublin to Galway as part of the Ovarian Cancer Cycle 2013. Planning the event the staff were very helpful emailing me menu's before hand. When we arrived they had set up and reserved an outdoor BBQ section. They then put on beautiful salads for us and got going on the BBQ which was superb. This worked out at €15 a head which I thought was very good value given the quality of the spread. Staff were very friendly and organised taxi's for everyone at the end of the night. Thank you...we'll be back!

We had dined here in the Huntsman in Dec.2011 and had a very nice meal in very nicely decorated and professionally run establishment ,however, Sorry to say, this time around when we expected the same again we were very disappointed . I hope its not the case that they are just trying to trade on past glory and not putting in the effort to keep up high standards . Service was slow and the quality of the food disappointing . Would be very slow in coming back again .

Room Tip: did not stay here

We had dinner, breakfast, and beer here. All were good. The service was very good. Friendly staff. The highlight was the coffee in the morning. Absolutely outstanding coffee. The best I had in a 10 day visit. Highly recommend this spot.

The Accommodation is 10 minutes’ walk to the Centre and it’s easy to arrive by car. We had the room nr. 114, very big and comfortable with the bathroom big too. During the day there is noise from the traffic of the street but in the night it’s more quit (even if it isn’t completely calm). All the staff is very friendly and kind. If you are tired and you don’t want to move from the Hotel in the evening you can have dinner in the Restaurant where you can eat well. Besides if you like on Saturday evening you can listen live music but if prefer quietness there are also others 2 big dining room. No problem for parking : there is a free Private Parking

Had heard food was nice here so went for lunch and find it hard to believe at lunchtime you cant get a plain ham and cheese sandwhich. Really needs to get with reality. Menu didnt cater for everyone just a certain type of people. Staff werent very helpful and seemed to think it was ok to stand around and comment about the customers. Wont b going back.

Stayed a few nights while touring.
The staff were great, helpful friendly. The only downsides were the noisy main road at front and the tired decor.
This place would have scored an excellent five years ago, but it needs decorating and freshening up. Which is a shame as the staff were lovely.
It is a bit of a walk to the main square and nightlife, which I didn't mind but note that its not on your door step!
