Recently stayed just for one night at this place. Found the staff very friendly and hospitable. The security is very good and the room very comfortable with all the facilities you require. The food in the bar is excellent and the breakfast is to die for. There is also adequate and secure parking.

Room Tip: Try to get a room close to the elevator particularly if you have more than one bag.

We booked one night stay here and i am glad we did! The hotel is 10mins walk into Eyre Square and is locaated directly across from the G Hotel. We weren't sure what to expect but we booked it on the basis of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel, it was very spacious and bright as it had loads of windows from every angle of the room. The rooms are modern, fresh and clean with everything you would need. We had lunch in the hotel, there was plenty to choose from on the menu and was very reasonable. The food was lovely and the service staff was very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. For breakfast there is plenty to choose from on the menu from healthy options to the usual full Irish breakfast. The lady serving us was very friendly. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and very refreshing. I cannot say a bad word at all about our stay we really enjoyed it and i would definitely return again quicker than booking any of the hotels in Eyre Square. I would highly recommned it to anyone.

Room Tip: If the weather is going to be hot and your a very light sleeper I would suggest you ask for a room a...

Came across this place by chance whilst driving round searching for a B&B. I'm glad we did, tremendous!

Had a little concern at first seeing the small reception wasn't manned but once we got started it was a fabulous experience throughout.

Got a great room (110) at very short notice. Room was huge. Separate TV room with additional sofabed, more like a suite than a room. Great bathroom with stand alone shower as well as bath. Twin washbasin facilities too.

Went down to the bar, quickly served by a friendly face, got brought a newspaper. Was given a dinner menu and told they served till 9 but take my time and order whenever I was ready. Chap that checked me in came over and made sure the room was satisfactory for me.

Bar is set up in three interconnected rooms, all modern design but slightly different style to each area.

Stayed for dinner which was great. Good selection of food, quick service. Kept the drinks flowing and a few cocktails too. Had such a great time I didn't bother asking or worrying about the price. It's not often that happens and is testament to the great experience we had.

Following morning had a great breakfast from a good selection whilst browsing the news on free guest Wi-Fi.

I should list the minor negatives to give some balance to this review.
It's a small hotel so you'll not get the glitz and grandeur of the Ritz.
There is some road noise overnight (major junction)
No Real Ale on the bar (Smithwick's, Guiness and some fizzy stuff)

None of those detract from and altogether wonderful stay. Thanks to all the staff if you are reading!

5 stars. Worth making a detour for.

Room Tip: 110 is a great room.

I stopped in here with some family as I was in Galway for the weekend. We had booked into the G Hotel and walked across the road to the Huntsman for a beer and ended up having lunch. I had the Steak Burger which at €12 was excellent value with Side salad and fries. We had coffees before we started on the Guinness. The staff are very experienced and obviously have all been working there for a considerable time. Staff were extremely courteous and efficient. The toilets were spotless. Definitely a great place for a lunch and or beers.

We stayed here on a whim...we didn't have any reservations in Ireland after St. Patrick's Day and decided to rent a car and go to Galway....as soon as we get close tot downtown we spot this little place with a restaurant and bar attached. Sold. We go in, book a room and wow. It was a gorgeous room. Couldn't have asked for better for a random place we had never heard of and saw just driving by. And at a very reasonable price, with breakfast included (which was pretty darn good), and a short walm into downtown! We had dinner at The Huntsman Inn and it was excellent. My boyfriend had the fish and chips, which was unique in that it had honey drizzled on it. He loved it. The local crab appetizer with avocado was also delicious. Can't go wrong here...if you are in the area I encourage you to stay, and if not stay, at least have dinner here! You wont be disappointed!

After making the drive from Dublin to Galway (an easy drive - highly recommend renting a car), we came across the Huntsman and decided to stop. We hadn't booked a hotel, early season so we figured we'd just stop where we wanted to stop and I'm so happy we chose the Huntsman. The rooms were cheap, food was excellent, three bars downstairs, breakfast included, etc.

The town centre was an easy walk, parking was free, it was a great experience.

Room Tip: I think the rooms are all the same - GET BREAKFAST with your room (it was included in the price for...

We stayed last night in the Huntsman and it was a brilliant experience. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Really friendly. Room was great and the breakfast was wonderful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Well worth the €100. The best thing is you can have your breakfast up to 11.30. What a treat. Not rushing to get up for the normal 10am finish.
