Description: McSwiggans is a city centre bar and restaurant which has been open for over 30 years. We serve food in the bar from breakfast to early evening and casual dining in the restaurant on the top two floors until late. Specialities include steak, seafood and amazing desserts. We have a great section of wine, beers & cocktails with live sport on our big screen and live music at the weekends. With a labyrinth of rooms we cater to family gatherings, romantic nights out and groups of all sizes.

This pub/ restaurant is one of the best in Galway in my opinion. The food is really tasty and filling, the prices are reasonable, the service is good and the atmosphere is nice too. The bar downstairs is great for a drink and listening to some live music.

To find a restaurant that offers something special for children is out of question. The majority of pubs - restaurants - food places offers the same: some pasta dish (with cheddar cheese or Bolognese - parmesan cheese seems out of question), beef lasagne, chicken goujons, fish nuggets and that's all...

Mc Swiggans offers more or less the same but with a superb quality of food - unbelievable how a majority of places fails because of the simple and obvious things - and an equallty high level of service.

It is a much more value for your money and a place that may have built its reputation and good name as result of hard work of its staff members so definitely not a place you will find while strolling the streets of the city.

Definitely a must and not only for families with children!

Ate here on my recent visit to Ireland. Was greater by a friendly waitress from Donegal. The restaurant was extremely busy but no bother to her, she gave us the greatest of service and went beyond the call of duty to ensure our satisfaction with our meal. Excellent staff. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Went to McSwiggans as friend recommended. I am a plain food eater so found the starters too 'fancy' so just had the soup. Had fillet steak for main course, very tasty. Large building, we climbed a lot of steps to get to our table. Staff friendly and served in timely manner. Would have enjoyed only for the noisy child who kept crying for attention from her parents (table next to us). Large bar area down stairs, nice for drink after meal.
