Description: As a family we have lived and worked on Quay street since 1902 and have a long history of looking after customers with Martine having worked in Margaret Mc Donagh fish shop across the road (McDonagh's Seafood Bar) at a very young age. This tradition was passed on to my brother and I, as we too worked with our mother in her restaurant preparing and serving food. Our family tradition and Galway's Great trading ties with other countries have seeped into the bones of our restaurant and greatly influence everything we do. We believe in local Irish produce prepared simply using traditional and modern techniques from home and around the world.

We had a meal over there. We wanted to try mussels which is a traditional plate in lots of places in Ireland. So we had the thai mussels as a starter, duck and lamb rump. The thai mussels were marinated in a fantastic spicy sauce. The duck was also great roasted with a crispy crust. Excellent flavours. The main courses are a bit expensive.

We strolled in one evening for a meal...the food was very good...We had steak, mushrooms new potatoes and peas with a peppercorn sauce and we thoroughly enjoyed it!! My partner also had some mussels and although they were small he said they were good!! The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent.

This place has some excellent fresh seafood and what looked like great choice of steaks based on the daily specials on the blackboard. I had the mushroom risotto with scallops and it was quite nice and they had some decent wine as well. Overall the atmosphere and the dinner was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were very glad we came there.

My wife and I had an early bird meal here yesterday evening. For €27.00 each we had a wonderful starter, salmon fish cake and a hake tempura with a pea and mint purée. We both had the Angus sirloin steak with mushrooms, onion and potatoe wedges with a black pepper sauce.
Both starters were beautifully presented and were excellent. Our steaks were cooked as ordered and very flavoursome. Service was very good without being fussy. We had an good bottle of Argentinian Malbec wine which complimented the food.
Would certainly strongly recommend this restaurant for service and value
