This is a large hotel overlooking the old port. Very good facilities, room very comfortable, good quality linen, reasonable bathroom but as is so common not such good lighting. The overriding memory I will have of this property is it’s brownness! Everything seems to be shades of brown which makes it rather uninspiring and very boring! Nice staff and good service generally. This is also a good location for the station if you plan to go into Dublin. It also has good secure underground parking.

This hotel is a genuine four star property. The room (Classic) was immaculate with all the facilities you would need. A particular handy feature was the fridge. The room also had air conditioning. The buffet breakfast was extensive and excellent. Ireland appears to have a rather bizarre rule that everyone who uses a swimming pool has to wear a hat and flip-flops. The hotel will lend you a hat, but you need to buy flip-flops. Not sure what the reasons are for this, but it does seem rather odd. To be clear, this isn't unique to this hotel but appears to be all over Ireland. The pool area looks smart, but I didn't use it due to this policy. This is a very fine hotel to stay in. Position is excellent with easy transport into Dublin or surrounding areas courtesy of the Dart train. Drinks and food prices are typical for this class of hotel. Should you stay here? Certainly, many famous people have in the past. I look forward to returning.

Myself and my husband had an overnight stay at the Royal Marine Hotel recently. We had a beautiful room, with sea views. The breakfast was huge and the hotel was very inviting. I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff at the hotel and especially to Roy Chandra who made our stay very special, as it was for our wedding anniversary. Would certainly recommend staying in this hotel and we hope to be staying again very soon!

Room tip: Ask for a sea view!

The Royal Marine is a nice place to stay, especially if you can find a reduced rate! Our stay included the full Irish breakfast with options for other foods cooked separately. The lobby and small food area always seemed to be busy with people. So, it's nice to know that people meet up here as well. The rooms are comfortable, try to get one with a view if possible. I ate here as well and the food is very good. They have a good bar as well.
