The Harbour in Dun Laoghaire is a beautiful place for a walk especially during spells of hot weather. You have the choice of two piers to walk, the East & West. If you are lucky you can enjoy some music and even treat yourself to an Ice Cream or Coffee before you set off on the walk. There is a Lighthouse at the end of both Piers which are worth seeing.

I stayed at nearby Haddington House and strolled along the pier afternoon and evening. It was quite just during the day but peaceful at night. The pier is well lit and feels safe even in the dark. A lovely place to stretch my legs at conference breaks.

Lovely walking experience though if there was a force 7 or 8 blowing it could be a very long walk! On a more positive note, there is ice cream to be had at both ends of the East Pier!

I walked all the bay and was really nice, there is a little ice cream place at the end of the port. Also there are some street musicians performing doing very nice the experience.

Beautiful harbour except for the new modern buildings being thrown up next to beautiful period style buildings. It's ruining the facade of the coast.
We have a lot to learn about planning in our country

All the villages down this coast are very beautiful and Dun Laoghaire is no different.
Quaint little pubs and fresh sea air, you have everything you need for a relaxing Sunday just on your doorstep from Dublin.

At any time of the year it's a marvellous walk along the piers around this great harbour. East and west piers edge the water and provide a safe haven for numerous yachts and dinghies.

It's also a busy ferry port with daily sailings to England.

It is known locally as the borough of Dun Laoire and while it is in Dublin it feels different. It is easily reached by train from Dublin centre. I always preferred the west pier to walk as it is less busy. The town itself has plenty of pubs and restaurants.

Nice surrounding area with shops, bars etc. Dun Laoghaire town behind which is also good and only a short stroll.

Whilst it's always been home I've recently begun to see just how lucky we are to call this fabulous place just that. The views are stunning, pace of life relaxed and the people friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do.
