As a regular diner the standard is high but occasionally slips, but the last couple of times it has been excellent. It's pricey but worth it, wines are reasonable especially the Joseph Merlot and the Gruner Veltner. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the foot, especially the desserts an he venison pie are outstanding.

My boyfriend and I had our usual table (I won't tell you the number, in case we cannot secure it in the future!). We arrived early and had a glass of wine at the long, elegent bar until our table was vacated by the previous occupants. Following a dicussion about wasabi peas which were served as a nibble at the bar, our waitress went through the specials with us, all of which you can have as part of the A La Carte, or with a supplement to the set dinner menus. The wine list is comprehensive, with a reasonable selection by the glass. The food, as aways, was excellent. The romn is very gracious, with tall ceilings, large candelabras, but nicley broken up so you do not feel you are eating in a large area. We have eaten there 5/6 times int eh past year, and we will be back.

I've been here teice over the last few months and I've been really impressed by this place. Gorgeous location, beautiful decor and the friendliest staff. The girl who served us was genuinely interested in whether we were happily munching on our food or not. My friend wanted some small changes to what she was about to order-potatoes in place of chips and steamed veg in place of onions. No problem at all! Delicious food, great service, i'll be going back! Their early bird menus are great value too.

Booked for a friday night and could only get a high table in the bar area which was fine....there were 3 of us just meeting up for a quick bite so we didn't mind....the bar area is fabulous anyway with a huge high ceiling...had cocktails to begin..not too pricey....two of us had goats cheese salad with walnuts..unbelievably good....the other had to go for the chicken wings which Hartley's are famous for....then two of us had the battered cod and the other the steak...all excellent...the food quality is always excellent...the only slight quibble is that my daughter did nt want chips with her steak, and asked if she could have green veg instead and they charged her an extra 2 euro..so their pricing is very tight I think....one of us had desert...so with 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine, 3 starters, 3 mains and 1 desert the bill was 134 inc service.
