We arrived at the Ferryman at 11am, asked if we could leave our bags till the checking time, greeted by a friendly helpful face who arranged our check in there and then. Was on top floor, pleasant clean room with really comfortable beds, just what you need after a days sightseeing. Breakfast was cereal, juice and Irish breakfast, tea/coffee really good value, very friendly staff, who couldn't do enough for you. There was a lot of construction work going on around, but when completed the Ferryman will be in a prime location. Pub was packed everynight.

My room was quite simple yet very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was generous. Definitely liked the location, it was a pleasant walk to Grafton Street, Temple Bar and the rail station. Staff was very friendly and helpful! I would absolutely stay there again.

Generally the staff were helpful and friendly but the hotel/pub was a bit disappointing. The room we had, overlooking the Liffey and endless construction work just outside, was basic and scruffy - not really dirty, just drab. The sealing around the shower base was discoloured, and the whole thing in need of replacement; there was no plug in the washbasin, and traffic is noisy, day and night. The walk into central Dublin is 20 minutes, no less except for those who run.
The Ferryman is more of a brash pub with rooms. Man United's Champion's League match was on TV at top volume one night and the place was making more noise than the Old Trafford crowd. Breakfast is OK but if you like mushrooms, tomatoes or any other veg with your lukewarm fry-up you'll have to eat out. So, reasonable value but you get what you pay for.

We were looking for a reasonable place to stay that was south of the river. We were lucky enough to fine a room at the Ferryman. We took the Dublin Bus from the airport into the city. The closest stop to the Ferryman is Tara Street Station. If you have a tom of baggage you might want to take a taxi (~7 euros) from this station to the room. We had rolling bags so we walked along the river to the hotel.

It was a nice walk along either side of the street. As you neat the hotel you will find some construction as they are building a new bridge that will cross the river right near the hotel leading to the convention center.

When you get there just go into the pub and ask for your room. We had a room on the top floor with skylights. It was chilly in Dublin and I had to ask then to switch on the heat for us. We needed a triple, this room had 4 beds so all was good. The bath was a little small but functional.

Being on the top floor the late night pub activities had no effect on our sleeping. All in all I would say the only drawback to the room was the location. Its a bit of a walk to get to the center of town but only 5 0r 6 euros by taxi. Also this area is under development and will be more accessible by bus in the future.

Oh, not to be forgotten is the traditional Irish breakfast that is offered with the room. It comes with one egg over medium, 2 to 3 sausages, 2 pieces of their bacon, toast, beans and coffee. On the side bar you will find juice, cereal, milk, jams and conserves. I promise you will not leave hungry and will be well prepared for the days activities. .

Ferryman made our first trp to Dublin a great experience, we met a drunk Irish local called Desmond on our first night in the bar downstairs, very funny indeed and the staff are fantastic. Amazing breakfast everyday server with a smile, perfect location, nice, clean and quiet rooms! better than some of the 4 stars I have stayed in other cities, would definitely recommend!

Had an awesome time at the Ferryman. The rooms were impeccable and met my very high standards. It was also a bonus that the hotel was in close proximity and a picturesque 5 minute walk by the river liffey to the city centre. It is a very well run hotel with friendly staff who were very helpful at pointing out places to visit. I a had such a wonderful time and will be definately be back again.

I would recommend The Ferryman to anyone. It was so close to the city centre,so everywhere was easily accessible. The staff were very friendly and most helpful and we had a great time in the bar. I stayed with a group of friends for a fun weekend, but would find it suitable for a romantic getaway also and I'll definitely be back!!
