Stayed in the nearby Portmarnock Hotel and walked a few minutes up the road to nearby Lali's for our evening meal. We had made a reservation and were greeted by a friendly waitress on arrival. We got a table in the window to the front, which was lovely, but they could do with bringing the covering on the window up just that little bit higher. We felt as if we were 'on view' to passers by. If the covering even came up to shoulder height it would be much better, and would still allow diners to see the lovely coastal views. There is also a dining area to the back of the restaurant, but we are glad we weren't seated there as the toilets open right on to the area! The food here is well cooked and tastefully presented. Service was good (even though our waitress was a bit scatty). We enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine with our meal and shared a pancake dessert with ice cream. Be warned this is a HUGE dessert for one person! The restaurant was pleasantly busy all evening. We finished our meal off with two coffees before a leisurely stroll back to the hotel.

We were staying at the Portmarnock hotel but prefer to go out for a meal and Lali's was literally a few minutes stroll away. As we went early, it was the Early Bird and of course it was very very busy! The tables are a bit close together but apart from that , it was a great relaxed atmosphere and the service was very friendly and efficient. The food was good - although can't remember what we had now, but know we enjoyed it!

LaLi's is is a little gem of a restaurant situated across the road from Portmarnocks golden beach
The tables at the windows have terrific views across the bay to Howth .Lamara is the owner and hands on chef ,whose kitchen is open for all to see, He is very engaging with all his customers and is from Tunisia.
His garlic mushrooms are divine and my family love the plaice and the place!Pardon the pun!
The home made banofii is mouthwatering and a generous helping. House wines are well priced and Lamara stocks a good choice.of New and Old World wines.
This cosy little Bistro is popular with couples and families alike. It has recently been decorated and local artists works cover the walls. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome and a well fed family.

Went to our local Lali's again last night - support your local sherrif and all that. Well, that's it for a while! The tables are definitely far too squashed together and we were almost intimate with our fellow diners we were that close. My starter was forgotten about and came after all the others had finished theirs (very little apology, no discount) and the recommended seafood (seabass) was way overpriced at €23, ridiculous as it was ok, nothing to shout about. The house wine is good and not too dear but the whole experience could be so much better with more comfortable seating and respectable pricing. The service was excellent though. It'll have to be Malahide next time for us all, lots of choice and prices well displayed. Sorry Lali's, we keep giving you the benefit of the doubt and recommending you to all and sundry but not anymore!
