Description: Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.

“Great food, adequately priced.”
Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

As we walked into the Nepalese restaurant, we were immediately welcomed by the friendly staff and seated.

I will warn you we walked in at 6:30 and they politely told us to finish our meals by 8:30, this is purely because we didn't book, so it's easily solved by booking a night in advance.

However, the 3 course value menu for £21.95 or 2 courses for £17.95 had a great range of different foods and all main meals came with nan or plain rice. The food arrived quickly, well presented and there was plenty of it. As a couple we ordered one nan and plain rice each and shared the two, we found this was more than suitable for us both.

Overall our experience was great and would happily recommend it to anybody, we would go back if we had more time in Dublin however the Irish restaurants are not to be missed also.

“Birthday Treat”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Fantastic restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious food. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back. It was my husband's birthday and we received a 'birthday dessert with candle' and a complimentary round of drinks.

“erb food and genuine friendly staff”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

We ate here last night, we hadn't planned it but it was inviting on a cold night, there was a great aroma when we walked in and a friendly smiling waiter seated us straight away, he showed us a set menu, a tasting menu and an al a carte menu, wepicked the tasting menu and for sixty euro we had dinner for two with a great bottle of wine, great value for dublin,

I never had nepalese before and while it resembles indian it is more flavoursome, there was plenty of food and we were there for over two hours enjoying the atmosphere, for a Tuesday night it was v busy whereas lots of other restaurants were empty, we shall return........
