Toscana is a very mediocre Italian restaurant. When we were there last week, my wife and I ordered an Aperol Spritz, the antipasti platter, one pasta dish each, and half a litre of house wine (never a good idea, but we weren't in the mood for much alcohol). The aperol was without 'spritz'; the meat, the olives and the cheese on the antipasti platter probably came from a supermarket nearby, and the pastas were ok. Not bad, but certainly nothing special (and the pasta in itself was a bit overcooked). What you can expect in a bistro. But not in an italian restaurant that's praised for its food. But the thing that struck us most, was the red house wine. My wife said it was the worst wine she had in years. And to be honest: I agree. You simply cannot serve such a wine in a decent restaurant, not even as a house wine. Time for some change guys!

Dear Guest,
We thank you for your views. We are very sorry that you felt this way about Toscana. Our guests are normally always very happy about our food and wine. The Aperol spritz is traditionally made with Aperol which is a non sparkling liqueur and topped with prosecco, so this is traditionally like a white wine spritzer which does not have a full fizz as it is mixed with a non sparkling wine. Our house wine is Antico Blasone which is sourced from Siena in Italy and is 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cannaialo. All wines even by the carafe we ask customers to taste before we continue to pour to give you an opportunity to return it if a more expensive wine is what you prefer. Our meats are not purchased at the supermarket, we have our hams and cured meats imported from Italy and hanging in our kitchens and are carved to order. If you stop by again we will be more than happy to show you our kitchen. We do hope to see you again.

We were in Toscana for a family meal on a Monday night in Dublin. The place was packed and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our 3 kids (16, 15 & 13) had pizzas which they enjoyed very much. I had a beautiful chicken dish and my husband enjoyed a very tasty lasagne. It was maybe a wee bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area (the early bird wasn't as good value) but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food.

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident but what a great little restaurant it is.
It was Saturday lunch time and we were both looking for somewhere to eat whilst walking back to our hotel.
We decided on Toscana and were immediately impressed. The lunch menu was a set menu for €10 for 2 courses and a drink and there were plenty of people there.
As a starter we both had garlic bread which was absolutely delicious.
For mains, I had pizza and my partner had cannelloni. Both were made with fresh ingredients and tasted beautiful.
Really couldn't fault the place for value, quality or service.
Would definitely recommend.
