Toscana is a very mediocre Italian restaurant. When we were there last week, my wife and I ordered an Aperol Spritz, the antipasti platter, one pasta dish each, and half a litre of house wine (never a good idea, but we weren't in the mood for much alcohol). The aperol was without 'spritz'; the meat, the olives and the cheese on the antipasti platter probably came from a supermarket nearby, and the pastas were ok. Not bad, but certainly nothing special (and the pasta in itself was a bit overcooked). What you can expect in a bistro. But not in an italian restaurant that's praised for its food. But the thing that struck us most, was the red house wine. My wife said it was the worst wine she had in years. And to be honest: I agree. You simply cannot serve such a wine in a decent restaurant, not even as a house wine. Time for some change guys!
