“Lovely food, so-so service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

I love the food here, it's always good.

Service varies from excellent to brusque depending on the person.

One evening, I had chicken wings. When I went to pay, I handed in 15 euro. The waiter never came back with my change! Two problems with this. Firstly, I would usually tip 10% and what was kept exceeded that, and secondly, he just assumed it included a tip. The change should have been returned, as it's up to the customer whether they leave a tip or not.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write of your experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that you love our food. We would like to offer our sincerest apologies for the mistake regarding your change. Our staff would never assume that any change is counted as gratuity and we can reassure you that there was a genuine miscommunication between the waiter and those involved in cashing off the bill that day. We apologise again that you did not receive your change. We really hope to see you soon and we will certainly rectify that mistake on your next visit.

“Great place for lunch and dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

Been there for lunch a few times in the last couple of weeks. This place is perfect for those sunny days. They have loads of outside tables where you can enjoy the waterfront view of the Grand Canal Dock/Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Food has never disappointed me yet. They have daily specials which are always delicious. I went for the fish a few times. Always fresh, innovative and beautifully presented. One day they had a sea trout and squid bouillabaisse with watermelon which was absolutely divine and perfect for the hot weather. If you are coming to Dublin during the rare sunny days, be sure to pop down to Ely for lunch or dinner. Sipping cocktails or champagne there while watching the sunset is an experience not to be missed. And just in case you are worried about the evening chills, they've got heaters, blankets and soft cushions for the outside tables too!

“Great work night out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

Booked a few tables here for a work night out and we pre-ordered from their canape and bar bites menu which included mini burgers, mini fish and chips, leek tart and a chicken roulade. I have to say I found the food lovely as did everyone else and the atmosphere was fantastic (helped along by the first proper Summer we've had in Dublin for 4 years!). Everyone enjoyed the evening and Jeri made it very easy to organise as I had to chop and change numbers along the way.

“Very nice lunch, portions a little inconsistent”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

Had a pleasant lunch here last week with a friend and her relatively small baby. We had a sofa which was great with the baby. Service was good and my leek, gruyere and smoked almond tart was properly delicious but really, really small... Had I not ordered the chips with it I would have been starving still! My buddies chicken ciabatta special on the other hand was large enough to feed a family! No decaf tea available, but its rare to find decaf tea so ill not gripe about it! Good value and good warm service. Would definitely return for the tart if only it were a bigger slice!

“Only because it was next to home”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We came here because the other place we wanted to go was full and location was great for us.
We just ordered 2 prosecco (16€) and they gave us 2 different glasses filled not with the same amount of prosecco.
If you go after 10pm and wish to sit outside, you need to order inside and bring your drinks to the tables outside on your own. No service in few words.
