Description: Thornton's Restaurant is an award winning Michelin starred restaurant located in the heart of Dublin City overlooking the leafy expanse of St Stephen's Green. Innovative and exquisite cuisine, presentation referred to as 'artwork on a plate' and service often compared to a theatrical performance make for a truly memorable experience at Thornton's Restaurant. There is attention to detail in every aspect of the experience, from the intricate food through to the impressive wine list and professional service. Our changing menu reflects the seasonal and local produce available to us and underpins our passion for reigniting the importance of the seasons. Working closely with our providers that supply us with the highest quality of ingredients, we can ensure that our produce is ethically sourced, sustainable and most importantly the best we can obtain. Head Chef and Proprietor Kevin Thornton is widely regarded as Ireland's best chef. Having featured in everything from the Irish Times to the New York Times, Thornton's is celebrated as one of the best restaurants in Ireland and is also internationally commended.

“Kevin Thornton has it!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We are still excited about our experience at Thornton's on Saturday evening. I made reservations one month ahead to ensure a place for our Birthday Party and I can confirm the positive way the restaurant managed everything. We chose the eight course surprise dinner option with wine (and Kevin's tableside introductions)..... I can't remember a better meal. Local, seasonal, imaginative, clever and best of all, delicious!! Kevin Thornton clearly has it! His knowledge and deep understanding of his local flora and fauna blend superbly into dishes to die for. It must also be said that the staff is attentive and well trained. It is a total experience! Be prepared to spend big time for this privilege but you will only be disappointed with the fact that you will have to go home sometime........

“Excellent michelin-standard meal (but slow...)”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

For a special occasion, we went for the full tasting menu here during a stay at the Fitzwilliam Hotel attached. Fairly pricey, but undoubtedly deserving of its Michelin star: the food was consistently inventive and surprising and the taste sensations were a real experience. The dining room decor is a bit eclectic and didn't blow us away, but try to get a table looking out the magnificent windows to St Stephen's Green. Don't be in any rush - we aren't particularly slow eaters/drinkers and it still took us 3hrs to get through the meal.

“Very nice”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

We had dinner here on a night that was very slow - there was only one other table taken during or visit. The service was attentive and thoughtful - we felt very well taken care of. The food is innovative and different. Some of the presentations are adventurous, but the taste is great. Highly recommend it.
