Like most restaurants in Temple Bar, The Shack was on the pricier side. However, the quality of the food and the service was not really worth the €15 per person. Maybe it was the 3-course mini meal we had, but it was just nothing special. Service was very indifferent, especially the host/manager, who rarely cracked a smile and was busy watching the football match on the computer. I ordered a beer without looking close enough at the menu, assuming that I would get a full pint for €4.75. It was a 330ml glass (not even half a pint). Albeit it was my fault for not reading the menu carefully but it still left a sour taste in my mouth, especially when you can get a full pint for the same price elsewhere. I think there are better places to go in Temple Bar, but if you're looking for a quieter, non-obtrusive atmosphere and you're not picky about food and drink size, this might be the pls e for you.
