“Great location for getting to all venues”

This apt is location right at the Ha'penny bridge and bachelor's walk so you are in the bar district as far as noise goes but I use earplugs so it was not a problem for me. The hop on and hop off pickup location #33 is just yards away from the front door. If you are not use to city life the noise at night might be a problem for you but most nights were fine if you close the windows. The bed was comfortable so I am not sure what the last review was talking about but also I did not use the sofa bed but in most places I have stayed the sofa bed is never good. Security was very good in the building so if you are a single woman (with common sense) you could stay here and feel perfectly safe. Plenty of towels and clean bedding. The washer AND dryer work very well. Many apartments only have a washer so having the dryer too was very nice. Bathroom was fine except there is no outlet for a hair dryer and so on in the bathroom. Getting in was no problem so that went very well. There was a little stress on checkout but that was mostly my fault as I broke a electric tea pot on my way out in the morning and threw it in the trash and was rushed to get to the airport and should have texted and/or mentioned it on my was to the plane so it created some problems but in the end we worked it out and he was understanding and reasonable about it. I was a bit agitated because it was suggested there was another item missing but it was found and all is right in the universe now. Other than the misunderstanding at checkout it was a very enjoyable time there.

“Great location”

Located at the heart of Dublin, right across from Temple Bar district. If you leave the windows open, you don't need to turn on the radio. This is the drawback: it is rather loud also at night. The little one room condo is very clean, bright and provides everything you need - even for your first breakfast.
the only negative thing is the sofa bed which is supposed to sleep 2 but even our son (a boy scout) had troubles sleeping on that item which is not long enough for grown ups and completely worn out. Our bed was much better but needs a new mattress as well.
Dardo the owner is very helpful. however, if you arrive after office hours you have to pay an extra 45 € (!) to get the key from the cleaning lady.

“Excellent apartment, location , and owner”

The location is an easy taxi ride from the airport (about 28 euros), has perfect people watching as they come over the picturesque bridge, and is walking distance to virtually all the sights. The apartment is classy, well designed, and with all the needed amenities and supplies ( including bread, milk etc etc). The bed is bigger than it appears in the picture and the flat not quite as long as it appears (due to camera angle). Great natural light. It can be unpredictably noisy from the pubs, with just one night really impacting sleep. The owner was terrific: very responsive in advance , easy to meet up with (and the key system refreshingly easy), and very helpful (e.g. Making sure Wi Fi worked for us before leaving...it did). A big two thumbs up.

“Superb!”

From kitchen to bathroom sink, you're walking the stretch of this flat that spans the Liffey - in your slippers! Come home to this fabulously stylish, functional, well-equipped and superbly-located flat above Bachelor's Walk at Ha'Penny Bridge overlooking the famous Liffey! Brightly lit by day, comfortably dark at night, you'll awake to the shimmer of the Liffey atop the slick red ceiling with blinds open, and descend into slumber with the soft lights on the river.

As for noise that some reviewers mention: the Thursday night I stayed I listened to the sound of breaking bottles and the wild line-up outside the windows at the night-club. It was ALIVE and FUN with a trumpeter playing to the patrons. Exciting for a single gal who isn't out in the night, but curious about the energy. It was funny rather than annoying! Mysteriously: the noise stops at 11:30/midnight and it never returned on the Friday, oddly. Don't like the sound? Earplugs by 10 PM and you're in dreamland. In warmer months, with windows open, I imagine you'll hear more. But this is the memorable charm of this central flat -- you are in the HEART of Dublin. It's actually louder in Galway's Centre!

The area is superb! Close to the Airlink bus transportation to and from the airport, all buses, taxis galore, the LUAS and with Dublin being such walkable city - enjoy your trek through Merchant's Arch across the bridge into Temple Bar. But don't forget the James Joyce House on Usher's Island just down the way, and the James Joyce Centre up the other way. About 20 mins' walk from Sweny's Pharmacy. Oh yes, this is a central launch point for James Joyce enthusiasts.

The flat itself? Clean and the comfiest bed and pillows. I was greeted with fresh bread and flowers! In the fridge were jams and peanut butters and milk. In the cupboards a wide selection of teas and cereals. Mirrors galore, so if you're staying with a friend - no fighting for the bathroom! The bathroom is gorgeous - but I had to place books on the little windows atop worried that I'd be seen in the shower! That's just me being paranoid, though!

Speaking of my habits - owner Dardo was so patient with my countless and endless inquiries. He responds so quickly and is very helpful. You'll enjoy his wall of books - testament to a cultured, artful and warmly human man who is dedicated to your enjoyment and satisfaction at his flat. I was amazed to see a similar DVD collection, further reinforcing the grand vibe of this home, which was starting to feel like my new adopted home!

I recommend staying as long as your budget will afford! Otherwise, save up for this and book the flat for 3 nights toward the tail-end of your trip and I guarantee you will miss Dublin forever.

My only complaint? Not having someone to share it with! Add candles and this is the most romantic place you can imagine! Of course, it was grand inviting friends over for a viewing and a cup of tea late into the night as though it was my own home.

Be sure to try the bakery a few doors to the East for an excellent brunch, and Yamamori a few doors to the West (hope I got my directions right!) for Japanese. That is, of course, if you can pull yourself away from cooking at 'home'!

Liked best: Owner's patience, which made my stay in this gorgeous vacation rental so comfortable and welcomed.
Liked least: Hiding the bathroom window view when I entered the shower since the view was superb.

“Superb location/Lovely apartment - you must stay here!!!!”
Reviewed February 22, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

This apartment is great! The location couldn't be any better. Very clean and tidy. The host Dardo was brilliant, giving us excelllent advice pre arrival and he even provided us with basic essentials such as bread, milk, tea bags, coffee etc.

Easy to find and a great location. Within walking distance to many of the various tourist attractions/sights of Dublin.

The apartment is very spacious despite it being a studio apartment. My friend took the bed and I took the sofa bed which was ideal.

All in all a fantastic stay!!!
