Description: Ryan’s of Parkgate Street has been a landmark Victorian public house in Dublin since 1886 located at the front gate of the Phoenix Park. It has had many famous patrons thorughout it's years including George W. Bush Junior and Senior who both drank here together and also John F. Kennedy. Ryan's was bought by F.X.BUCKLEY Restaurants in 2006 and since then has been serving fabulous FXB quality food, not only do we serve our famous steaks but a full Gastro Bar menu which recommends the best beer for each dish.

We only climbed the stairs to the restaurant because the pub downstairs was full. But we were glad we found this little dining room. The brisket was perfect, and the service super-efficient. Glad we found it!

The welcome here was great and the food was fantastic. Try the chicken wings followed by a steak, you will not be able to manage a pudding!

Great bang for your buck, proper portion size, wonderful service.

These guys are amazing. Competitively priced, good specials on the go.
The restaurant is up the stairs of the pub. Nice interior, small cosy & intimate.

A great steak house. It's meats are sourced from FX Buckley - so you know its good quality. It's not fine dining - but what they do - wow! they do so very very well.

I've eaten here at least a dozen times when we lived in the area. It was our local. Food was consistently good. The chicken wings are incredible to share. I love the fish & chips & the burger is popular with my wife.
A nice selection of wines & beers. Nice clientèle: a mix of locals & tourists.

Maire the manageress is old school & a seasoned pro in dealing with clients. Always quick with a smile & an ironic statement. But there were more like her in Dublin's service industry!!

Always busy. This is one success story that will survive the recession.

Recommend.

The place is very convenient if you're going to visit famos Guiness storehouse. Burgers are big and tastefull and fries are from real potatoes.
The menu is simple, but it's a great deal.

Visited upstairs restaurant on 6 July 2013 on first day of our Tour of Ireland. Carried out review on Trip advisor of pubs restaurants near the Ashling Hotel beforehand. Never visited Dublin before but selected some places to eat in Parkgate Street before we stared out on our holiday. Visited some of our choices in afternoon and chose Ryans for our evening meal and booked a table. Varied Menu, I had pate' for starters and my wife had soup followed by spare ribs and I had pan fried cod. Both dishes were superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall well worth the money.
