It has had many famous patrons thorughout it's years including George W. Bush Junior and Senior who both drank here together and also John F. Kennedy. Ryan's was bought by F.X.BUCKLEY Restaurants in 2006 and since then has been serving fabulous FXB quality food, not only do we serve our famous steaks but a full Gastro Bar menu which recommends the best beer for each dish.

Ate dinner here twice while in Dublin. Granted we were staying close by without an auto, but the food and service was good enough to come back a second time. Would have liked to have some Irish music but pub appears too small to accommodate.

Had dinner in the pub (Ryan's) the first night we arrived in Dublin. Service was quick and attentive. I had the Caesar Salad with chicken - it was great. My husband has fish & chips that he enoyed. We sat in a cool little alcove in the back and had a very private dinner in a very crowded pub.
Later in the week we went back for dinner upstairs at F.X. Buckley Steakhouse. There is a door just inside the pub that says 'TOILETS' on it that actually leads to restaurant upstairs. Great atmosphere - very comfortable. Service was great and food was excellent. Not cheap but well worth the price.
Very convenient to the Ashling Hotel, in fact - one of the only restaurants near the hotel.

Just recently had dinner at FX Buckley. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Great selection of steaks and seafood.Try scallops with black puding it is superb!! We also had beer tasting tray which was a great experience.
I do recommend to book table in advance because restaurant is small and really busy.
we would definately be back.

We've just returned to our hotel after eating at Ryan's, which was recommended by our bus driver on our Dublin sightseeing tour (green bus) today so we decided to make a booking for dinner and it was well worth it. They have a good wine list and the size of the meals was more than generous - I had the small serving of mussels for a starter and to be honest with the bread it could have done for a main! I then had the steak and Guinness pie which was delicious and once again more than enough. The service was very good and the restaurant is quite intimate compared to the busy bar downstairs, which makes for a relaxed and atmospheric dining experience. The food prices were very reasonable especially considering the serving size; be prepared to pay for the nicer wines. All in all a lovely dinner and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin!

Service could have been friendlier, couldn't serve bruschetta by 8 o'clock as they had run out of mozzarella, first wine chosen was not available and although asked for steak well done, it was pink. To be fair, cheesecake was particularly nice.
