i was looking forward to dinner at the green hen, however the experience was just okay. i went without a reservation and was able to get a table which was good. did not really feel too welcome, the waitress i had was lovely and came straight away giving me the list of specials and offering me all menus and something to drink. the meal came, settled on the trio of lamb but was not asked how i wanted the lamb done, which i forgot to mention when placing the order. the lamb cutlet was so rare it was difficult to even cut into which i ended up not eating and the lamb "meat ball" was so salty so after the first bite i could not eat that either. would definitely not be going there again.

We recently dined here for a family party (10 people) and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was excellent and could not be faulted. Due to the number of people in the party the restaurant said that we had to use a set menu, this we knew about when we booked. The set menu had good options and everyone was very happy with their choices. For each course all the meals arrived at the same time and hot which was very good. The value of the set menu was very reasonable and would overall recommend this restaurant for a dinner party of 10 people.

Had a lovely romantic meal in this restaurant. Great service and they accommodated my dairy free needs. I would recommend this restaurant.

We found this place by chance just walking along looking for a nice steak place! The decor is enchanting with lovely lighting and pictures on the walls, a beautiful little bar area and elegant stair case in the middle. The staff were welcoming and although we did not have a reservation (which seemed to be the done thing as it got very busy) we were seated and served promptly. We both had the steak with chunky chips, onion rings, tomato served with a bernaise sauce! The most perfect steak I have had in a long long time! No more overpriced than the other restaurants around the area but well worth it!

Booked at table for 4 for lunch, good professional greeting at the door, nice table upstairs with a view over Wexford Street. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is decorated by old B&W film posters / stills of stars of yesteryear (Steve McQueen, Peter Sellers etc). The set menu for lunch was extremely reasonable at 3 courses for €19 - choice isn't massive, but food was excellent (lamb burger / duck confit being the mains ordered). Wine list is very extensive, and the house red was excellent. Staff were presentable, courteous and professional - which lets down so many establishments - and food was delicious and well priced.
