“Exceptionally tasty find”
Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

If you like Indonesian food this is a welcome change from the potato, haddock and all. Exceptional squid, pork belly, and tiger prawn. Okay noodle. Sit downstairs for service and upstairs for ambience. Nice location in temple bar. Not inexpensive for rice table but can do ala carte though we were not offered that menu. Perhaps not to obvious tourists?

“Beautiful Food, Service and Atmosphere”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

I live in Dublin and for anyone visiting and wants to eat around the temple bar area and stay close to the action id highly recommend here. It is not "Irish" if that's what you are looking for but Ive eaten in many Asian restaurants and have been to south east Asia. I cant recommend this place any higher, well worth visit. May be slightly more expensive, buy hey you get what you pay for.

“Bad service, overpriced, ok food”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

To start with we waited for more than 30 minutes before I went downstairs to ask the person in charge to come (it's true we were waiting for 2 people, and they were waiting for that to happen, but my friends were starving and not a single waitress came and asked not even for the drinks or even looked at the table). Then we waited for 10 for someone to even come and take note. The menu it's forced to be a tasting menu (although you can choose between 7 or so), and without drinks or dessert menus prices are from 25 to 35 (so quite expensive in the end). We also were charged a 12,5% for being a table of 6 (this it's quite normal, but still unfair if you ask me, since we actually wanted to order in 2 different rounds and the insisted in having all the orders at the same time because it was easier for them). When the food arrived was ok, the coconut sauces were really good, and chicken was good. Satay too. Pork not that much. Crab cakes, decent. The portions were confusing (since they mixed in one dish all the common dishes, and you ordered 5/8 different dishes and can't remember what they was), to be honest we were a little bit lost without knowing which food we can eat. The better part was the decoration, nice second floor, really nice. Overall, we were 6 people (easy going people, usually happy people, and not winners ;) ) and none was willing to ever come back.

I'm terribly sorry to hear you had such an experience, it is very bad to wait so long for your drink to be served, I really apologise and this week we are having a meeting with our team to ensure this never happens again.

“Perhaps my favorite meal of our trip”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

I love Indonesian food and seek it out whenever I can. (It's a little hard to find in Minneapolis.) Chameleon was fantastic. We had 2 rijstaffel, one with vegetables and the other with beef, chicken satay and pork belly. Terrific food and wonderful service.

The restaurant is a quaint little spot, sort of a oasis of calm away from the pubs. Reservations are probably a very good idea.

“Just gorgeous”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I had a top notch dinner here, serves by helpful charming waitresses. The decor is gorgeous and quaint, the menu has something for everyone and is quite reasonable. I have recommended it to friends and can't wait to visit again!
