“Wonderful Service!”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

Me and my husband just stayed at this hotel for two nights. It's very clean and comfortable, and the attention we received from Hitomi at the front desk just exceeded our expectations!! She was very nice and very helpful whenever we asked her how to get to a certain place. Also I mentioned that it was our anniversary and she gave us a great room! Very spacious and with a terrace!

The hotel is about 5 min walk from O'Connel st. Which is where you take the main buses, and about 15 min. Walking distance from Temple Bar area. I wished it was nearer because after travelling and walking for more than a week 15 mins is kind of a long way, but in reality (or normal circumstances) its not.

We also got great attention from other members of the staff, the breakfast is good (not super great but worth it)

Very nice, totally would go back again

The Maldron Hotel on Parnell Square is a nice, quiet, clean hotel. The staff are friendly if a bit disorganized. We had a group of 6 staying at the hotel, which confused the desk staff and put us back about 30 minutes at check in. The rooms were clean and well appointed, but there are a few quirks you should be aware of.

1. The wi-fi in the hotel only works in the bar area (unreliable in the rooms) and you need a password. The password is free, but you have to ask the desk staff to give you the access code.

2. I found out from some locals that the Parnell Square area is "not the best part of town". I didn't really have any security concerns even returning late at night, but I heard this from more than one Dubliner.

3. The ironing board is in the closet and there is a switch at the base of the cabinet on the inside as well as a button to turn it on, located on the top of the device.

4. Your room key inserted by the door turns on the lights and heating/AC, but the AC shuts off at night around 11pm and is controlled centrally until morning. If you like your room cool, get it chilled down before you go to bed.

Aside from that, there are a number of bars and resturants within 5 minutes walk as well as shopping. The shopping is mainly mall/retail outlets. If you head towards the river, near Merchants Arch you'll find more local fare and interesting shops.

Dame Street is also quite nice, but is a good 20 minutes walk from the hotel. See the "Queen of Tarts" review I've done as well for information on this.

Room Tip: The higher room numbers on each floor are towards the back of the hotel away from the elevator and s...

The Maldron Hotel is extremely convenient, being minutes from O'Connell Street. The decor of the rooms was fantastic and felt more than a 3 star hotel, with very comfortable beds to match. Can't really fault this hotel at all, perhaps a little on the expensive side but this is reflective of Dublin overall.

Good location,
Modern and clean facility, quiet and comfortable.
Pleasant staff and professional service at front desk and on the phone too.
Very average food at breakfast, awful orange juice!
Terrible stinky water on tap, and vending machines available to sell bottled mineral water at tremendous price...

We stayed for four nights. Thought the location was terrific. Hotel room& bathroom were well appointed. Would gve the hotel a five if the front desk service was better. They were often in the back but very helpful when you got their attention. I think it is a great value. Would stay again!

Have just stayed three nights at Maldron with friends and was very impressed. We were there for Leonard Cohen concert at Kilmainham . Five minutes walk from Writers Museum where we could 'hop on and off' the tour bus, ten minutes walk from O'Connell St, very good location. Breakfast was delicious, warm croissants at all times. Evening meals very reasonably priced, portions huge! Rooms comfortable and clean. Desk staff very helpful. especially Vivien.
I would stay at the Maldron on Granby Row again when visiting Dublin and will recommend it to my family and friends.

stayed there when we were in town for ND/Navy football game. This is a $90 hotel room; for that price it's not a bad deal. We paid far more than that. If you are looking fro a simple room, clean and reasonably well located (of location but not great), this is your hotel. The hotel staff is very nice and they try to help. They just don't have a large staff and no concierge.
